Hey, I love inverts and I want ideas on things to get. I have been looking for something different that I can keep in my tank. Do any of you have any ideas? Thanks

I have a 29 gallon reef with:
1 cleaner shrimp
1 peppermint shrimp
a few hermit crabs
a few snails
1 brittle star

Porcelain crabs. Anemone shrimp pederson shrimp, pom pom crab abalone

I have only had my tank for about 4 or 5 months now so I am pretty new. I really like BTA but I don't know exactly how to take care of them. What do they need to thrive in a tank?
thanks for the suggestions

I like the rainbow BTA. Is there anything different between them and rose BTA?

I am planning on getting some sexy shrimp in the future.
I want some harlequin shrimp but i'm afraid my nitrates will rise when feeding them starfish because they don't war the whole thing

rose bubble tip are great but remember your tank needs to be pretty well established before the nem will thrive.
I believe that with the equipment we have these days, that isn't true.
I had my 45 gallon AIO setup for only 3 weeks. Then I put a RBTA in it along with 2 clown fish and everything was just fine. In fact about 2 months after I put the anemone in, it split.

You need to be careful what fish you put in with sexy shrimp.

Thanks for the information
I am planning on getting fish that will not bother them at all
Right now my meanest fish is a clownfish (they can be kind of mean)

4 white legs
8 blue legs
5 Mexican red legs
10 cerith
8 chestnuts or orange
8 banded turbo or turbo

White legs are fun to watch and they are super fast!

You should be good to go.
Mainly just be sure there's good flow, plenty of light (I run T5s and LEDs), and maybe feed it once a week.
Place it near the middle of the tank and let it find where it wants to be. It may move around some before finding the spot it wants to call home.
Try to keep the flow the same all of the time in the tank because it seems like they like to have a certain type of flow. That will vary from one anemone to another anemone.
This is my 100 gallon that I upgraded to from the 45 gallon. The center 'island' is what I call "sea anemone island". It has 1 RBTA, 2 bicolor BTA, and 2 rock flower anemones.

Do you think BTA or rock anemones would be better for a first timer?

The main difference is the BTA use light for food. The rock flower uses the light some, but you have to feed the rock flower about 3 times a week.
The Rock flowers don't move around as much.
But if you plan on getting a clown fish some day, the BTA would be the way to go since clown fish will have nothing to do with the rock flower anemone.
The BTA is probably easier to care for and as you can see can spred out a lot. I personally like the look of it 'wave' in the current.

Also, just because they are called bubble tip anemone, it doesn't mean that they will stay 'bubbled' up.
I haven't been able to figure out why they don't and supposedly nobody has figured it out why some do and some don't.
