The main difference is the BTA use light for food. The rock flower uses the light some, but you have to feed the rock flower about 3 times a week.
The Rock flowers don't move around as much.
But if you plan on getting a clown fish some day, the BTA would be the way to go since clown fish will have nothing to do with the rock flower anemone.
The BTA is probably easier to care for and as you can see can spred out a lot. I personally like the look of it 'wave' in the current.

I already have a pair of clownfish in my tank. My frogspawn is hosting the female but she won't allow the male to join him. I want to add something that could host my male so he feels more at home.

Do you think that the BTA will host my clowns even though the clowns are already in the tank?

Yea, female clowns can be like that.
I had a female clown that wouldn't let the male out of the anemone (no eggs were layed either) and if the male strayed from the anemone, the female would chase him back into it and then would shake her head at the male and start moving her mouth as if she was ******** at him for leaving the anemone. Go figure.

My pair used to fight way to much and I was scared that the female was going to kill male so I put her in my sump for a couple days. Now they still fight a little but not nearly as bad as it used to be.

I'm a huge fan of pom pom boxer crabs. Very unique little invert that is fun to watch with great personality. They have a symbiotic relation ship with a tiny anemone.

I have a sea anemone crab that loves hanging out by one of my rock flower anemones.
(the clown fish probably won't let it do anywhere near the BTA)

I like the boxer crabs but I don't know if they are reef safe because they have anemones on their claws. My LFS said that they were not reef safe but obviously he was wrong.

Not true. RFAs are photosynthetic as well and do not require supplemental feedings. They do have a good feeding response though, but for that matter, so do BTAs. Either type of nem will grow faster if offered occasional meaty foods.

I've had two and both seemed reef safe. They are small and would probably become a small meal for an aggressive fish but I never saw any signs of them hurting corals.

Also, just because they are called bubble tip anemone, it doesn't mean that they will stay 'bubbled' up.
I haven't been able to figure out why they don't and supposedly nobody has figured it out why some do and some don't.

You are completely correct. My RBTA has never once bubbled for me, nor was it bubbled when I picked it up from the LFS. Do you ever feed your RBTA or does it rely completely on photosynthesis? When I first got my RBTA it was wide open for a few weeks then slowly shriveled down to what looked like death. Then, it moved to the back of the tank and stayed shriveled for probably a month, maybe longer. Now, more recently it has moved up higher on the rock and is now right in the front of the tank. It looks good with plenty of color and it stays open but it's maybe half the size that it was when I brought it home. I have been feeding it some freeze dried shrimp maybe once a week or so. I haven't noticed any change in the anemome since it moved up to the front of the tank. I have really been considering more lighting. I'm thinking I should get a t5 or something to run during the day for a few hours to supplement the LED strip I am currently using.

I usually feed the BTA thawed out frozen crushed squid once a week.

My setup uses an AI hydra 26 over each of my three 'islands' in my tank with 2 T5s in the front part of the tank and 2 in the back part of the tank. The 3 BTA are on the center 'island'. The AI hydra 26 are only running at 35% max during the middle part of the day.
