My best detritivore, hands down, is my chevron tang. I'd never run a reef tank without a bristle tang, with the Chevie my favorite. I don't worry about the detritus that accumulates in the sumps - it's mostly inert at that point and provides an excellent substrate for the small stars so I just leave it. I like hermits for in display detritus removal ...... and lots of flow. I used to use cucumbers but it seemed like they crapped out more than they ate LOL. Though they are cool to watch.
