Is Flex. tape Reef Safe

I could see no reason, in an emergency it will hold the water. Long enough to control a siphon to Tubberware.
Then go for corals on top, fishes and last got enough time for foundation rocks covered with polyps...
In a pinch, newspaper dipped in tank water and mist bigger pieces of live rock, with coral submerged..
Fish, always carry battery powered air pump, but chances still got power, so any airpump etc.

But when in doubt, polyfilter in the tubs or tank: while accessing your individual situation.

Majorly, Power off first!
Calm and Responsive.

I found the below on their website. If its not recommended to be used around drinking water it probably isn't super awesome for our critters for the long term. Maybe still good for an emergency where it would only be applied long enough to pull all the critters out.

+1 to power off first. BZZZzzzzzzzz~~!!!!!!111one

Q: Can I use FLEX TAPE™ on a container that holds water for drinking?

A: We do not recommend that you use FLEX TAPE™ where it comes in direct contact with drinking water.

Doesnt really necessarily mean anything. I wouldnt drink krylon fusion spray paint, and thats reef safe.
Aquarium salt mix isnt recommended for human consumption either, and thats fine in your tank [emoji6]
The tape would be better than nothing in an emergency, thats for sure.

I was wondering the same thing a few days ago and noticed that in the commercial for Flex Seal, they mentioned that the product contains copper. Not sure if they are the same product though (or if I was just hearing things lol).

I have a similar product that I picked up from Home Depot to fix a slow leak from a drainage pipe in our basement (it's so slow that it's being contained with a healthy wrap of teflon tape for now) and I believe it was safe for potable water. It's a similar thing, but basically a mesh with an epoxy like substance that is activated when initially exposed to water.

On a side note, that is the most intense "As Seen On TV" commercial ever.

We've come a long way since OxyClean and ShamWOW!
Don't dis the shamwow Bro..
HAHAHA>>>

Boy could the professor have used that on Gilligan's Island. ;)
Im pretty sure he invented it there. He was all about Ginger though... Why leave?

Well there are legals to be con sidered for sure, and there maybe some of that. OR its just bad.

But besides wanting to make My BMW amphibious, I like having a plan B, and a good tool kit.

On my local forum its pretty common for late night help calls, and Ive helped out with some pretty easy diys. Boy that tape could be a tank saver...

Like your reasoning!

I hear that commercial everyday and feel the strong urge to choke Phil Swift when he is riding in that taped up boat near the end. "YEEEEEAH DOGGIE!!!!"

I do think that stuff is probably a good thing to keep on hand just in case.
