Is my gameover shroom dying???

Hey everyone I need some advIse. I noticed recently my gameover shroom has not been opening up as much as it usually does. Nothing has changed water parameters wise or location in the tank. I noticed it was acting like it was getting some additional flow (but it hasnt) and lifting up on one side and the foot was stretching out, naturally I thought it was going to leave a baby as it retracted it's foot back, but instead I notice it's getting white in that zone of the foot so I was concerned that it might be dying. I never seen that whiteness before and all my other shrooms are doing fine and they are in the same location as the gameover. Anybody ever seen this before???

Looks to b dropping a foot to me, sometimes when there reallly streched out it looks white in color because of its mesenterial filaments

Sure hope ur right. It just started producing babies and thought this would be it's third one but it's taking an unusually long time to finish the deal. Wasn't sure if it was some kind of white foot disease thing I never heard about or what. I'm. Not opposed to cutting it in half to save the whole ya kno

Cut that piece ill trade u a bsa interstaller mushroom for it, i wouldnt be worryd if its taking a really long time its deffinitly the mfs ur seeing, try to magnifyglass to see if it is

Imy just worried cause it looks like it's been getting higher and higher. Took it out tonight and took those pics for a baseline and will.check it again in 2 days. I never cut a jawbreaker before so wouldn't know where to begin

I am noway a guru with cutting frags, ive ben reefing for like 16 years nd im 25 now, i kno it seems crazy sometimes but mushrooms are one of those things wether its a jawbreaker or a regular discosoma, you can litterally cut a mushroom into 100 pieces and they will all grow, the only time ive ever seen a mushroom not survive is an overdose in iodine and extremely high lighting, especially when its streched like that is the best time just to slip a razor threw the foot nd over time separate the rock if u want to mount it

Thanks for the tips for sure. I recently started cutting my zoas and they seem to bounce back just fine and like u said I have heard lots of people say it's really hard to kill a shroom. Although I have lost a couple for the reasons u stated-too much lighting and too kch flow so it floated off and I lost it. I had a clown fish host my WWC Bounce to death, that really sucked. I hope this thing bounce back. I have been dosing a little bit of iodine cause I read that shrooms like iodine but I havnt put much in. Maybe will just stop the iodine altogether (only put it in once a week and only about half a cap full). If this thing looks like the white it spreading across the head then I'm gona just go samurai on it I guess-lol

Also I forgot to mention I noticed the mouth was turning a bit whitish too. That's what got me a bit trippn. The white on the foot was one thing but stretching upward and now the mouth having some whitish was what made me think it was getting sick and dying

Deff dont dip maybe stop dosing iodine nd stick i somewere, were theres no light and suttle flow, itll strech toward the light amd ahould leave the baby behind, i cut my bounce threw the mouth once and shrunk to a penny size, never again but when u cut off a foot its basically doing the shroom a favor instead of ripping himself lol9l

Hmmm. I like the way that sounds-makes sense. Any idea on white at the mouth area? Def not gona do anymore iodine. I will put it n the bank of the tank under the rock overhang and it's pretty much nothing but shadow back there. Thanks again. Will keep updating

it gets white on the body to look at the original picture from when you got it from me there was white then to probably just that . but sense its making babies you can send the momma back my way
