I have a blue spotted watchman goby paired with a tiger pistol shrimp. I have not seen the goby in 3 days. It usually sits right outside the cave as seen in my profile picture. And usually the shrimp is constantly at work. I haven't seen the shrimp either but i know hes in there and alive yet cause he snapped when i pushed some sand over three entrance.. The shrimp hasn't moved the sand at all which is very unusual for him.. Do you think that maybe the goby died and that's why the pistol shrimp is not doing much very worried...
See my build thread for specific water paramaters and what not..

Not abnormal, however the goby should be coming out when its feeding time

A month and they were paired at my LFS too for at least a month
Ok. They haven’t been in your tank all that long. They’re probably just chillin in their new cave. Over the years, I’ve had gobies with or without shrimp hide for a week or more at a time. Not uncommon at all. Just wait and don’t move rocks looking for them as that presents crushing risk.

I currently have a pink spot, diamond, and wheelers pair. They’re all different. Sometimes they chase food, sometimes they wait for it to pass by, and sometimes they don’t even come out.

How will i know if somthing has happened to it?
You may or may not ever know. CUC would make a quick meal of it depending on what you have. There are plenty of stories on here where people hadn’t seen a fish for months or longer and the one day there it is! Out and about like nothing ever happened. But seriously, give it a couple more days.

I will but this suspense is killing me..

I know......it’s tough. Hang in there.
O ok
I know......it’s tough. Hang in there.
So the only other thing is i had some white fleshy stuff in my power heads could that be the remnants of the bwg or calcium precipitation cause that is an issue woth my high alk

An update being up late tonight i saw the shrimp working on the burrow but no goby around i feel that the goby would be around the shrimp for sure i think i lost him ? :(

Was it active and well-fed? I read in a CORAL magazine that it’s always a possibility for the shrimp to kill the goby if it’s weak or something.

I target fed the cave and i have a lid on with no escape for em
It's been 4 days maybe i will get lucky and he will re appear
Or maybe the goby jumped?
That stuff in the baster was the stuff in the power heads and i found a chunk in the pistol shrimp cave.
