Will start off by saying that I just lost my frogspawn to bjd. I'm afraid my hammer has it too but I haven't seen any brown jelly. Half of the heads are gone now and it's only been 6 days since I got it. I have ammonia in my coral only QT so I'm guessing that's from dead coral heads? Left pic is from 6 days ago. Right is from today.

I'm not sure what to do here. Should I dip it and put it under stress in case it has bjd? Or do I try to feed it?

I'm sorry to say it but that does not look good. I would Not be feeding it. That's a layer of stress you don't need to be giving it.

Iodine dip or Lugol's may help, but dipping is stressful in itself.

Oh no, it don't look good, not to do anything and let it die, or dip and try to save what you can.
It looks like a wall hammer. All you can do really is an iodine dip and try to get off any dead tissue.
There is coral revive, I just don't think it can help in these situations.

Yeah I've resigned myself to having lost both of my euphyllias. Rough first 2 weeks to reefing. I saw threads saying that the brown stuff was just coral poop only to find out later that it's a disease. I bought Lugol's iodine and reef primer. I've already done a hydrogen peroxide dip so might give one or both a try.

I've seen a dozen threads here in the last few months where someone was saying a specimine Clearly had bjd, when there was no indication of it. Not every euphyllia that dies has bjd, contrary to popular information currently being presented.

I don't see any indication of that on this hammer.

Shoot I’m sorry for your recent losses. I know that when wall hammers start to go, they can be difficult to save. I’ve heard advice from reefers saying, cut the dead off then dip in iodine and place in low flow low light till the polyps start to return to normal.

You don't want to over dip either. I hope you haven't yet. The coral could be stressed due to ammonia. And is retracted badly. I honestly cannot say.

Right that's why I'm asking everyone here. I don't see any evidence of it but my frogspawn definitely had it. It got it within a few days of me buying it. I only took it completely out yesterday. If not bjd, any other possibilities?

Severe irritation. You said you had ammonia in the water. A white picture would tell a lot more.
Edit: if you dipped it, you would smell brown jelly. I would assume you would recognize the smell instantly. It's putrid.

I know you said you're pretty new to this but do you have the ability to test for ammonia nitrites nitrates phosphates alkalinity and salinity? A full parameter panel may reveal a cause.

I'll do a full test today. Yes I went all out on testing kits. Hanna, red sea pro, and nyos. Sorry I'm trying to figure out how to get my ai prime to do white. I thought I did it but this is how pictures come out.

if you are taking pictures with a camera, the flash light can help. I am seeing skeleton however.

Yes the heads are gone. Just skeleton on half of it.

Figured out feed mode on the ai prime. Just had it output only white. Here are better pics.
