I seen a post similar to what I’m about to describe, only difference is my Kenya’s don’t look like they are peeling at the branches. But my Kenya’s we’re brown, now they are purple and shriveled up and have this whiteish slim on them. Are they ok? Please excuse my rude clown fish boomer lol.

Now that I zoom in I see algae on them. Is this ok?

And I just put a skunk shrimp in there. Will this help with the algae?

from what i know algae on tissue means dying. but i had one that died fast so im looking for an answer along side of you
I also fell asleep with my moon light on all night and left the bright light because I figured they needed it. Was this a mistake and cause for algae on them?

How old is your tank?
What are your water parameters?

The rocks looks brand new.
Tank is new fully cycled. Ammonia 0 nitrite 0 nitrate 40. Rocks are brand new going through the ugly stage.

Should I turn lights off tonight? Algae seems to grow over night.

How long are you leaving your lights on? And when you say turn your lights off tonight, are you referring to your moon lights, or your main growing lights?

What time of the photo period was the picture taken? Does the Kenya look like this all day?

If you are leaving your lights on 24/7 your going to grow algae like mad and likely burn the corals flesh. You need to get that down to a 1/8/1 schedule. Mine is sunrise at 11-12 then sunset 9-10. My light does a lunar cycle so it varies but always ends by 1am. I'm having great success with this so far.

Let us know some more about the tank and parameters like PH level. Alkalinity and calcium. These will help us with more insight as to what is going on.

Phosphate is another important parameter.

Make sure your salinity is 1.025sg or 35ppt

Everything Maters to an accurate diagnosis.

How do I get algae off them? They where fine last night and this morning.
I would just use a turkey baster and blow the algea off of them. With those being kenya trees I doubt they're dying. They're almost impossible to kill IME.

You may already know this but you will eventually have small kenya trees all over the tank unless you are very careful about pruning them before they can drop babies.

Looks bleached to me. Maybe a light or temperature shock. Most of the times unrecoverable. Algae is diatom and will go away on it’s own.
