Is my RBT splitting?

After accidentally stressing my lil guy out 2-3 weeks ago, my nem hasn’t been open since. It also hid under the rocks, closed up for the majority of the time. I thought to just leave it alone, it may just be healing. After waiting a week or so, I thought it wasn’t getting enough light so I moved it from under the rocks to on top of the rocks. Yesterday, mouth was gaping, I fed a small amount of mysis and kept an eye out. I came home today and see this. Nem is splitting? I can’t quite tell and if it is, this is my first time.

Mine normally dont close up like that when they split, or have a gaping mouth, but I guess they could all be different?

My nem is usually a small circular ball. Once I saw this I immediately assumed splitting. I think its splitting differently because it was/still is stressed and is attempting to undergo the same process a normal RBT would.

Definitely not splitting. It's hard to tell from the picture but the anemone looks quite sick. Once they get to this point they don't usually recover. I'm sorry to be the bringer of bad news. Best of luck! Btw the coralline on your rock looks fantastic!

I wouldn't move it anymore, it will find it's happy place. I have had mine split and the new one disappear for a week or 2. Then pop up as high as it can get. One of mine looked very similar to your photo when it split.

That def gives me some hope. My nem hasn't been doing 100% in the past few weeks. I fixed the problem and I just assumed it was recovering. I hope you're right and that it splits and it fully recover in a few weeks time. Thanks

Do you have proper light?

Never mess with anemones. They will travel for days sometimes to find their "spot."

Dont feed it, just leave it be for a few days.

I have leds that came with my tank when I got it. I've planned my upgrade lights but am currently saving money to get them a little bit later. My tank is an aquatop, no name on the lights. Gonna upgrade to the kessil a80 in a month or 2. I mean if the upgrade will help my nem survive I'll get them now if I have to.

Honestly, if they are those cheap LED strips that go on the lid, the are no where enough light for that Anemone.

You'll be lucky if he makes it a month with those lights.

I've had this nem for 2 months now actually. Sounds like I need to upgrade asap.

Eh. I would get an AI Prime HD Personally. Or a Kessil A160.

Always better to go a bit bigger and be able to upgrade your tank at some point.

Honestly, I would get an AI Prime just because you can run the whole thing off an App and it's cheaper but that's just my preference. Turn it down to like 30% and you're good to go. I love mine. Being able to power them off an App and program is so much better than buying a $100 controller just to do that on the Kessil.

I like the controllability but I adore the shimmer of kessils. A hard decision.
