Is my scoly gonna make it?!

A big piece of lr fell on my Scoly like right on it and hard any chance it’ll pull thru?! You can see almost like the flesh was cut and almost looks like feeder tentacles are coming out the side? Or just skeleton? Very worried I’ve had it for years

Ty it’s my favorite so got worried it looks ok it’s still has skeleton exposed on the side and that white mark but if this guy can cut one in half literally I think I’m ok lol

Those polyps might make him melt one day. Eventually he wont be okay.

I’m really trying to avoid that so this morning his tentacles are out like normal but when he closes you can see a cut in his flesh that’s white his mouth seems ok but I’m worried it could lead to infection ...you think I should frag it?! Any chance it can recover that tissue ?

Do not frag a scoly. Most just die. Move him from the polyps and let him have his own space to recover. Polyps are stinging him. He is already injured.

He can’t be moved he has attached himself to that rock I don’t think the polyps hurt him he never lets them grow on him I can’t kill them they don’t die for anything

Oh boy. Get someone who has a dremel and cut around the guy. Eventually they can overwhelm him. No, they wont grow on him, until he's dead. They will just sting his underside until he gives in and dies. Polyps have stingers.

How has he attached? Are you sure? I have had one on rocks for years without attachment. They are normally on mud flats in lagoons, no?

Good to know. I was thinking of them along the lines of a wellso which is obviously not correct.

Remove the palys within 2 inches of scoly.

Thanks for advice the infection where the rock fell on him almost looks worse it’s white in that area I’m gonna cut the polyps but they never really messed with it or so I thought I just have to cut them here and there

Sadly, people only see the results of coral warfare 6months to a year. Sometimes sooner. Which makes it much more obvious. The fact the scoly has to defend itself from the polys, is making it harder for it to focus on healing his wounds.

Once you have the polyps dealt with. Maybe someone can chime in when to feed the scoly. My brain corals always recovered quickly after a feeding.

Interesting I’ll go to town on them pest tonight I hate them they always grow back and leave me with a headache (was told they are the poisonous kind) but I haven’t died yet let’s see

He ate but didn’t really expose those tentacles but he definitely ate and puffed up covering his wound

Been doing it for 4 years I just get a nasty headache don’t have gloves I wish but I really gotta get in there and pluck them
