A nice tank outshines a great tv almost any day. 3 tanks reminds me of multiple tvs at a sports bar. Something to watch for everyone.

Would the tank be running parallel or horizontal to those flow joists.

The 2x4 framing is up/down, inline with the wall that the aquarium will be against. I believe the floor joists run perpendicular to that

Why the drop off tank? Would think they pose some unique challenges- lighting, flow, and cleaning.

I guess for all those reasons?

I enjoy building mixed reefs the most. So all those challenges are there already. In a drop off tank all those challenges become freedom and you can play to what the corals naturally want.

You should be golden! Besides looks like have 2X8 joists which would be more than enough!
