No corals or anenome ? You gonna have fish only what's the plan?

Anenome are cool if you have clowns there easy wants there settled. Put a fine mesh cloth over the filter tell he attaches and stops moving. Lots of easy corals

You have a pretty tank bud, i love it i could sit and look at it all day long lol, what did you have in your 39g??

Im gonna upgrade to a bigger tank soon but im gonna start everything up and let it sit awhile and add some live rock and new live sand (Old live rock) and let it all cycle longer than i did my original tank, and then move my fish from my 20g to that, i wanna 40g wide with about 20lbs of live rock and a good deep sand bed for my star

will a hippo tang be cool in a 39g like yours ? where did you get your 39g?

i may get a 29-40 from pet supermarket

There is no tang suitable for a tank that small. Smallest for any tang is probably a 75 for a kole/yellow tang maybe. I have a small hippo tang in my 125 (6ft) and am already planning an upgrade to a 210 with the tang being one of the only reasons. I would say definitely look at what fish you want to buy before searching for your next tank so you can figure out what you'll need to accommodate those fish. I really wish I would have done that, heh.

No he was in there for six months and he grew quickly he started banging himself on rocks. It was my first tank and was just learning insurance and outs. So I got a bigger tank and have 5 tangs Dori still rules the tank

Sorry to hear about this. Aiptasia since you have no corals: take the rock to a separate tank and heat to 92-94, they pop off rock and float, tried this yesterday and works (I'll be posting a video once I do my big colony to show).

Btw skip the tang route on a small tank.

Sorry about the loss. Sucks for sure. For future reference all powerheads and intakes must be covered with foam to protect Anemones. IMO this is a requirement. At least we learned a lesson?
