Is the Anemone alright?

Whats the best thing to do folks! dont want him to die or get unhealthy (no idea if he even is healthy from being in a tank full of aiptasia) he was smashed up against a piece of live rock upside down, hell i even bought $60 worth of lights for him with different bulbs cause i wasnt sure what the heck he needed lol

Is it good that he has finally hooked onto a piece of live rock and the sand? and has been sitting there for about 4hrs or so, hes also ate brine shrimp from a turkey baster, and has opened up a good bit, tentacles havent curled when he moved and he has good water movement, (My clowns havent touched him neither) was afraid of them nipping

He was up top earlier where i put him, then someone said hes a sand dweller so i moved him to sand, he has now stuffed himself into the rock and sand and i think is hooked cause he isnt moving around like he was earlier with the powerhead

he seems okay here, he moved to the corner

Not sure if this helps, but my
PH: 8.0/8.2
Ammonia- 0ppm
Nitrite - 0pp,
Nitrate 0ppm

Salinity (1.025)

25% water change the other day and a stir up of dirt on sand was cleaned a bit too, (Not fully cause tank is basically new)

Clowns been in about a week and thriving, but starting to dance with each other, i dont really wanna take him back to petco but i can maybe take him to my saltwater fish store i buy my fish at and they would probably take him in and swap me with something (which ill pick up after awhile)

yup i got bio spira and quick start which are live bacterias, 250ml bottle ive used awhile ago for cycling, and before adding fish and again when adding that anemone.. hes in corner and he is alright now i believe ill check again in morning

will do bud, thanks for the help!.. id rather him survive in my tak than to be poorly cared for in petco! so hope he does well, if not my lfs can take him in

Good luck, I've followed most of your threads from the beginning. :D I know your trying hard but really you need to slow down, it's very exciting and addicting , believe me I know I went from a 3 gallon to a 8 gallon to a 15 and now I'm at a 30 and that's it for a while but I didn't do all of that in a months time so my losses for the most part were stupid things like not having a top on my tank so I had some jumping clowns. Anyway just some food for thought. I'm new to saltwater so I don't give out specific advice just some good advice I've got from here. :)

Keep an eye on him. If he is attached and not moving he is happy enough for now. Try feeding small pieces of thawed raw shrimp to him about the size of a pea or lima bean to start weekly. The biggest thing with an Anemone is stability. The reason 6 months is suggested is you need to figure out how to keep your levels stable during that time and the tank needs to mature. So stock very slowly from here on out. Wait 2 weeks between adding new fish. Make sure your temp and salinity remain constant. Take is slow. Nothing good happens in this hobby quickly.

Just watch him and remember no percula clowns he will eat them ! Maroon clowns OK also large freeze dried shrimp will be eaten about 1 a week .

To me he looks bleached. I would keep him , if he dies get him out quick. If he is really stressed he might split. I got a rose anenome about a month after I got my tank cause I couldn't wait I have had her for a year now. When I got a bigger tank she split but both are doing good. Good luck!!!

Well folks, i got up this morning and he was doing great he actually opened up really wide and his tentacles were long and straight and flowing great ... he was anchored to the rock he decided to go with between the rock and sand (3inches or so thick sand) cause i have a starfish in there always moving around, anywho, he was doing great up until noon, we left to go to look at a bigger tank that ill be upgrading, well we were gone about 4hrs and we came back home and i went in to feed him, and i found him in my filter stuck, i near died when i saw this sh$t, i shouted into my wife and told her to get me gloves asap and put them on, turned filter off as soon as i saw him stuck and he seemed okay just stuck, well when i went to see if i could help and push him out of the filter slots his tentacles were chopped up and i was just devastated :( i tried my utmost best to save him and he was wedged so bad it was like he was glued to it, finally got him off and he was partially shredded (his tentacles) and i think he was gone.....

ive been pretty ticked off with this all day cause i thought hed be fine and i was aware he can get shredded in the powerhead above him but he was anchored to the sand and rock and i thought hey hed be alright i never wouldve thought hed get trapped in my filter, the filter is a brand new Aqueon quiet flow 30, been running it since the 18th feb (got it as a bday present) so yeah my bday gift killed my anemone, and thats my fault, but i never thought a dang filter wouldve got him, i assume he went wandering around while i was gone and just got trapped, im pretty dang bummed about this crap, not the money just with myself cause i took him and pretty much killed him within a day, ive made my mind up and i dont think ill be getting another anemone for its own safety! :( and i think ill just stick to fish for the time being, just thought id do some good and help him out from petco and well this happens so i guess being at petco hed have been better off...

and yeah folks i took pics of him this morning and just now getting them up, here he was at around 9-11am
