Is the new Neptune COR made in china?

It’s not necessarily about quality, it’s about ethics. You know the companies who outsource to places with minimal labor laws only care about profit and significantly upcharge the product compared to the extremely low wages they are paying to those who make it. Not to mention the workers who suffer for it. Money truly does run the world.

I hate to tell you, but most companies in almost all areas of high tech have outsourced to low-cost countries to take advantage of labor arbitrage. If not for final assembly, then certainly for the components that make up the product. It really has nothing to do with ethics, unless we're talking underage labor, and everything to do with economics and the ability to make a sustainable profit - profit that goes to R&D and stock performance.

Personally to me, I think ethics and values are more important than profit margins. I understand some people don't give a dang about the values and ethics of using American made products, but I personally would like to see more of it. I am a union pipefitter, and we are constantly battling the non-union side of the trade. Its bad enough to watch workers being underpaid and go without prevailing wages and benefits because of "profit margins". I know why they do it, but I don't like it. And I disagree that Chinese manufacturing is just as good as American manufacturing.

Chinese manufacturing comes down to this: how much are you willing to pay for quality control?
An example of what I mean: I owna watch that has what is known as a tourbillon movement. This is an extremely precise mechanical movement that will not work properly (keep time accurately) without parts being made to within a very fine margin of error. Even dust within the springs can cause it to not perform correctly. All of the parts are manufactured in China and this watch performs as good as the swiss manufactured parts for 1/10th the cost. The reason it comes out so well made is because the company pays for the quality control to accomplish this.
I'm highly doubting a company like Apex who charges top dollar prices already would overlook this in their manufacturer.

I'm sure Neptune would be just fine if they brought all their outsourced elements back to the US. I, for one, would be very proud to see it. Any company that puts their values on providing living wages and benefits to their employees over profit margins are heroes in my book. It takes a great sacrifice to do the decent and humane thing over the profitable one.

Acquaintance of mine owns and runs a high end audio company. The prices of the gear he manufactures are absurd, even to those of us that think we 'get' sound quality. His products were made here in the US, but he was forced to move much of it to China because he simply couldn't compete with competitor pricing that were already there. Guess what, the vast majority of his customers were not willing to pay a made in the US premium. He hated doing it, I know, but it was the difference between being in business and not being in business. There are always different perspectives.

I beta tested the COR-15. Ran like a champ, no issues whatsoever. At the end of the beta they had us return the original pumps and replaced them with brand new ones. If there were any “first run production issues” they clearly identified them and remedied them before official launch. As far as I am concerned, Neptune went to great lengths to ensure that they got this right.

I'm sure the COR will be a fine pump
