Is this a flatworm?

NO TO FLATWORM EXIT! How big is your tank? I highly recommend getting any of the halichoeres wrasse - yellows seem to be the nicest. They're always on the hunt & take care of all the pest. Some recommend sixlines, but say no to that also!
Why do you say no?

Why do you say no?
Just for all the cons - flatworm poison after they die, have to overdose to make it work, have to repeat treatment & some may still survive (so they may come back). I used it years ago and from my personal experience, the fish is the way to go. I do use it as part of my coral dip routine. How big is your tank?

You use flatworm as part of your coral dip? How exactly? It's a thirty gallon.

After a bath in revive or coral rx, I'll use a drop or two of FWE; specifically with zoas. I like to over dip my stuff. I've never had to deal with zoa nudis & never plan on it.

If you don't have a ton, I probably wouldn't worry about it. There are a few different red flatworms IMO. The fat red planaria are the unsightly ones. I believe you have the small skinny variety that can come & go depending on nutrients in the water.

It's natural to have a few flatworms in your tank. If you could only find 4, I wouldn't intervene.

I agree most flatworms are harmless and most have some in their tanks and do not even know it.. No reason to panic unless you found him eating something he shouldn't. Most do not reach plague portions, most have specialized feeding habits and eventually die in a reef because of no food.

Well I took the ones I saw out yesterday, and have found another five today. I'm not going to just leave them, and hope they don't keep multiplying. I'll be dosing FWE and h2o2 tonight.

That is the ultimate attack!

Definitely dose, it doesn't sound like your tank is overrun with them so as long as you do a water change and add some fresh carbon I wouldn't worry too much about toxicity from their death.

Agreed! ^^^
I had these little guys at one point and bought FWE but have yet to use it... Use a baster when you see them and keep your water clean, they will typically go away in time. Unless they reach plague proportions, they're not typically harmful...

It's the AEFW and Red Bugs you will want to act on...

Haha so many mixed responses... You could always get a wrasse or velvet nudi if you're seriously worried. Their toxicity is more harmful than having a few here and there IMO

I definitely understand your point, just to monitor. However, I would rather just take care of them now, and kill a few, rather than take the chance of them multiplying.

They will multiply this is just the nature of them
I act upon seeing them. If you let them be and become in plague proportions then you have a problem with toxins.
I love flatworm but they have their place in life.

So when using peroxide, do I need to dose more than once? Or will one dose possibly work. Dose FWE and peroxide tonight, and check in twelve hours, if I don't see any, then leave it?

I run FWE for 48 hours
They will no disappear they just die off
H2o2 dosed every 12 hours with FWE aids in the release of the flatworm from surfaces to be caught by mechanical filtration

Should I then run everything like normal, my return and mp10?

I run everything as normal during the use of FWE (except for the removal of carbon, this needs to be offline)
This is not like chemiclean where you run into equipment issues
