I don’t have much experience with Mertensii but the one that I see picture of have much brighter verrucae.
I only seen one in real life. Bright purple verrucae

In real life it is bright purple. I just can't take good photos of it.

Mertens have long tentacles immediately around the mouth while the rest of the tentacles look like a haddoni.

I cant see the mouth tentacles but from what I've seen in the pics so far it could be a mertens.

The tentacles don't look long by the mouth. I'll let u know when it is acclimated. I just put it in my tank.

It can be either a mertensii or helianthus. However, if you're saying the verrucae are purple then it's a mertensii. Good find, especially for $60!

If you can, take a photo of the foot, where it attaches to the rock. If the verrucae start as dots under the oral disc aland become most solid purple at the base, then it's 100% mertensii.

The foot is now attached deep into a rock. But this was taken at lfs. I circled the foot. @D-Nak

The other identifier is that the verrucae go straight in a line down but stagger so that it’s not a perfect line (hellianthus). And it’s the only anemone that has the verrucae down along the foot.

Here is mine.

Very envious of the price and different anemones you are able to get in your country/ area. I have to import all of mine in.

Your old thread was the reason why I knew it was mertensii and bought it right away. I've been reading all of you and the rest of the guys old posts

Yes, I agree with everyone else -- a mertensii it is! Don't feed it very much or you'll have a 24"+ anemone in no time. ;)

Mertans are cool I’ve always had them was my first carpet before a even a Haddoni they’re awesome. I’ve had fisherman tell me they have seen them at 5 feet diameter in the ocean! Here is mine got torn up by a power head 3 weeks ago he’s doing good now. But that’s definitely a mertans good find! They’re actually one of the cheapest carpets on the import list they are just rare for people to bring in because of the size! I render back when I first had them the only specimens I was able to get were huge 24” + but this year and last year have been seeing a lot more small ones imported:) mertensi in the wild have some crazy folds like a gig I have yet to get them to re create this type of shape in the home aquarium yet :(

Checkout BenDalat mertensii which he has had for long term at 40" + now. It's a very old video but it was under T5s. He posts occasionally on another dead forum as Deepsea2005. But the youtube videos are often on my streamlist. lol

And here is a link to my own playlist that I put together of random drooling addiction. Great to play in the background when the baby is running all over the house and you can't enjoy your tank. lol

There are so many skunks living in that mertensii!!! That's awesome. I have seen some mertensii in the wild, and they truly do get humongous
