Is this Aiptasia?

Hi, this has sprouted around my Zoas. Came about 2-3 weeeks ago and has gotten bigger but hasnt spread. Is it Aipastasia??? Its just on the plug so should I take out the plug and do a dip? What should i dip it in? Hydrogen peroxide or Reef Dip. Tank is 6 months old and this is the only place I see this. Any help is appreciated, thank you

It looks like aiptasia to me. I did some editing to your photo. I use aiptasia x, or if the frag can be safely removed from the plug, and remounted to a new one, I do that as well.

Not the best pics but looks like some sort of anemone so probably AIptasia. Reef Dip will do nothing to the Aiptasia. I'm not sure how much peroxide would be required (concentration or time) to have any effect. I would expect it would be hard to eradicate them completely with peroxide when they are growing between zoas but you might be able to knock them back quite a bit. As above, if you can remove and remount the zoas to a new plug, that might let you separate the aiptasia off.

@Mavsaltwater can you inspect the plug better and see where the aptasia is, I mean is attached to the plug or has it grown through the ZOA'S?

If it's just on the plug poke at them so they retract and try using a fresh razor blade and try and do one clean sweep under the zoas and get them off that plug. I had to do that a while ago and had no issues since. You can get a small bowl and add some peroxide and dip the zoas in it for 2 minutes and then dip them in saltwater to wash them off. Zoa's don't mind a bath in peroxide from my own experience.

Best to get the whole thing out of your tank. Any messing with it will just make it spread and Bobs your dad your entire tank will be aptaisia. Don't poke it, don't scrape it just throw it away.

Agreed ! I’m currently battling an aiptasia war I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy lol

Same here! I had to set up a 55 just to put my infected rock so I could work on the problem. Because I tried to treat it

Yeah I just fragged a couple of the zoas on there so I didn’t loose them.

Turn off your flow and use aptasiaX to them and they die instantly.

OP there isn’t an aptasia dip that I know of to answer your question. Now’s a good time to learn fragging. Some zoas have play toxins so familiarize yourself with the process. The first coral I put in my tank had an aptasia on it. I removed the frag scraped the aptasia and covered the spot in glue. Those ones look pretty entwined though.
