If it is how long till it'll spread to the other fish?

It also depends on the fish. If the tang is aggressive and you have more than one tang in your tank, expect it to spread like wild fire to them. I have yet to see my clowns or wrasses get it. Same with my gobies. That's the bad thing about tangs..ich magnets. Lol

I have 2 other tangs a sailfin and blond naso so far they show no signs of ich. At first I thought it was the little white things in the water I guess they a little pods of some sort on his scales. what do I do now? I know I have to quarantine but at this time I don't have a big enough tank to hold all my fish in. I have 8 fish and a star. Freken crap.

You could leave everyone as is, keep them well fed, they have the ability to beat this on their own. Depending on the severity of it, a QT on some fish that have it really bad will not help. You could FW dip the tang, and that would kill the parasite that is currently on him.

Looks like it.

If your tank is overstocked and/or the other fish are stressed out like this guy has been, then spread is likely. OTOH, healthy unstressed fish won't be susceptible.

I would go with ReefingMadness's plan unless you have a QT that is at least as big as your display tank and you can get a proper biofilter going on it. Most of the time QT adds more stress to the situation - a lot just in catching the fish - so isn't a help.

That's what my lfs does all I have to do is try to catch him and take him there and they will treat for him for me. But he is still newish and still runs to hide when I walk up on the tank. How can I catch him? I tried the 2L bottle trap for the other smaller fish. But he is a little bigger then the other guys. I had to take out all my rocks just to get te other fish to their new home. And doing that here is not going to happen. My bigger rocks are cemented/apoxyed together. I'll see what I can do tonight when I get home from work. I do have a 10g I can put him in if I catch him. Also have a 20g long that is currently a sump on the other tank that I'm tearing down. Smh I should have just qt it in the first place. This is what I get for trusting a store that calmed they are ich free and have been I qt.

I'd not judge to fast. I've actually goten a Tang right out of 6 weeks of QT using copper, and popped em in my tank, and POOF, there if was all of a sudden. Got me how it works, but man that stuff is just weird. I believe that once its in your system, its in there, and very hard to get rid of.

Ok I'm at wit send with this ich my poor sail-fin has it bad I'm try to catch him and am having no luck I can't tear the rocks apart cause they are epoxy together. I'm going to order a fish trap from brs and have it next day ship to me. I tried the 2L soda bottle but he is to big and won't go in. It only works for my smaller fish. I'll just set up a few qt and try and catch everyone. I feel so bad that he has ich. I can see he's not happy at all. Also does that ich attack work at all? I need some advice bad please. Thank you.

I'd stop chasing the fish around, that doesn't help with stress levels. If they are eating then your in good shape. I've used the Ich Attack in my tank a while back, and it did well for me, but my fish didn't have it bad, and they were eating still.

I stop chasing him awhile ago I only tried for an hour. Everyone is still eating. He is breathing fast I'm really worried for him. Should I still get the fish trap? I think I should and just qt everyone and do this the right way but until then I'll try the ich attack. I also have some prazipro can that be used together?

One treatment at a time, I'd not use more.
Ok thank you. How long for that prazipro to run its corse? It says a single treatment lasting 5-7 days is normally sufficient. But I don't know if that means from just adding it once or keep adding every day it doesn't say.

I've heard of turning the temp up a bit will help. I said a bit, a couple of degrees....slowly.

I've always had the best luck with letting them be and feeding heavily. Stay away from the tank to keep a low stress environment. I'd suggest adding a few drops of garlic extract to the food. I think trying to catch them does more harm than good.

Most would dose a bit more than normal on the Prazipro side. And yes, just llet it runs its course once its dosed. Then add carbon to the system to remove it.

Ok thank you. It did have a little affect on my coral but they came back out in a few hours. And how do I know when all the prazipro is done/out?

I did up the feeding to 3 times a day some in morning afternoon and evening. Where do I get the garlic extract at? Or I meen is there a. Particular brand?
