One dot like that wouldn’t turn me to think it’s Ich as of yet. I would continue your treat for now and just keep on eye on him. If more specs appear then Ich may be at play. I would also get him eating Nori soaked in Selcon to help him boost his immune system.

He picks at rocks, but doesn’t touch the clip

I tried garlic and selcon in the nori, doesn’t touch it

The tang is eating more of the small bits of algae off of the rack and rock, but doesnt touch the nori.
Now every time i look at him, he is grazing

I guess that is a good sign.
Also, the white spot seems to have disappeared.

Yea I was thinking that white spot was sand. Also live foods won’t hurt to try. Usually with picky fish I give them mysis and they seem to eat that first.

What were they feeding it at the pet store? I'd start with that and maybe try some plant based frozen cubes. It may eat live brine but that's not very nutritious for a tang.

they had just got it for me at the fish store. It seemed to be interested in the live brine. The fish isnt interested in prepared foods though.

Are you talking about live mysis or frozen?

I never buy a fish that I can't watch eat something first. How long have you had the fish? Maybe it's just not hungry yet?

This is the third day. I want him to eat more so he can hopefully build up his immune system. He has been nipping at the rock and egg crate, so it looks like he is hungry.

Also, could I use ich x with general cure?
Ich will NOT go away with any medications that’s not copper based. If it is truly ich, take all fish out and qt for 3 months at least. The longer you wait, the better the chance of all of the ich dying off. Let the tank sit with no fish for this timeframe. Copper power and Hanna copper checker is what I recommend. Hurry! Before the ich gets worse!

Frozen mysis is what I was talking about. But like I said keep an eye out.

Some people report success with other options but usually it's short term and the Ich returns shortly after treatment is complete. If treated properly, copper always works, but unfortunately you also need to let the DT remain fallow (without any fish) for 76 days. TTM is not really worth the effort if Ich is in the display tank. Better to setup a QT and treat copper for 30 days (less stressful to fish). But FIRST you need be sure if you even have Ich. Maybe do dome research on flukes while you wait to see if white spots return.

If there were any flukes, the GC treatment should kill them. This fish is in a 14g qt tank with no other fish.
