All my fish and my blue hippo tang have been in quarantine for 55 days while my display is fallow. First 30 days in coppersafe at 2.0 on api test, last 25 days with no copper, was getting ready to dose prazipro but now she has a white spot close to her eye. I have restarted the copper just in case. Only 1 spot and it's been there 3 days.

I circled the spot, it stands out in person, if I had sand I would think it's that, 3 days there but no flashing or any of the normal signs. All other fish look great.

I would just keep an eye on it for now. See if any more spots show up and if this one drops off in another day or so.

That does look like ich to me, unfortunately. To Mel's point though it's very blurry. Perhaps try TTM this time around. For now, observe and see if it goes away and if any other spots come back. You should know in a week or so.

After I finish the 30 day coppersafe my display will be ready, would moving the fish there be smart or do I need to move to another tank! I have a 20 gallon but that would be crowded with 2 tangs, 2 clownfish, 2 chromis and a cardinal

You can do 30 more days in copper --- I would increase to 2.5ppm that's what I always do to be 100% sure (between swings in the copper concentration and faulty tests/user error in reading them).

Up to you how you want to handle but that little blurry white dot looks like ich to me, but I don't feel 100% comfortable diagnosing anything with photos that blurry. I am say 75% sure.

I will try to get a better picture and increase the copper levels.

I personally would wait to see if:
  1. More white spots show up.
  2. The current white dot disappears within 3-7 days. If it disappears < 3 days or > 7 days, it cannot be ich.

Thanks, it's day 3 now so I should see it dissappear soon of its ick. Of it does dissappear then plan to do 30 days of copper again?

Only if it disappears within the 3-7 day window, which would line up with how long trophonts can remain on a fish before dropping off.

I wouldn't worry too much about it then. possibly lympho, possibly just a blemish. Keep an eye on it still and report any changes, but I'm thinking this isn't ich if no new spots have shown up and this one is still there today. Of course, it could drop off any minute and still be within the 7 day window.

No other spots showed up and I will check tomorrow. I had prophylactic started copper back, if it's still there tomorrow should I remove the copper since the fish had already completed the 30 day treatment?

If it's still there today then I would remove the copper.
