Do the math, Marine Depot is a huge distributor on both coasts. They supply hobby shops all over the USA. They buy 2-4 thousand buckets of salt at a time. But we can give them the benefit of the doubt. Lets only say they bought 1000 buckets. The rise in cost is $15,000 to the consumer.As someone with multiple businesses tied to shipping, I can almost guarantee it is not greed. The economics of the supply chain are getting crushed right now. Let’s not always assume the worst in people![]()
Using what your saying is that it’s shipping costs. At a time when fuel prices have tanked. No, I’m not buying it.
Thanks to a video or two from BRS the salt has become very popular. So supply and demand means they can try to charge more.
A $15 per bucket price increase is without a doubt greed related. Somewhere in the chain someone is trying to make allot more money off the popularity and rarity of this salt.
