I picked up this alveopora at my lfs today. Got it home, acclimated it then did a Bayer dip. Within minutes of putting it in the tank it started releasing this slime stuff. Is that normal?

Do you think it was the Bayer?I use bayer on all my new incoming frags and I've never seen anything like this. Note there is a few different bayer chems and the others will kill coral. And depending on how long you let the coral sit in the dip and how potent the dip was it could have make the coral die. I don't let it sit longer than 5-10 min in the dip. Any longer I've noticed the coral was stressed.
Well, freshwater dips will stress corals to near death. Probably the swish in RO/DI was just too much stress for it. You should rinse in tank water only.
