I think that is what happened because it was moving it mouth and gills very weirdly.Many are talking about disease but as the poster indicated this occurred after eating a big chunk of food. Perhaps an obstruction with the food. Fish need water to flow thru their mouth and pass past the gills to breath.

I find it interesting that the "food" was never described as to what the food was....and how big was the chunk.I just fed my clownfish and it ate a big chunk of food and then was trying to eat more but couldn’t swallow.
