Is This the Dreaded Aiptasia?

Is this that Aiptasia I hear about all the time?

If so, how problematic is it really, and how do I kill it?

If it's not, any ideas what it is?

Even the most grizzled of truckers would shudder at the language I just used.

Peppermint shrimp are out of the question as my eel would just have an expensive snack.

Manual removal it is.

Tank is 25 gallons.

Greyfaced moray eel, also known as a white eyed moray. About 14" in length.
I know it eats Peppermint shrimp because a friend of mine had a misbehaving Peppermint that was damaging his coral.

I actually do have a 55 gallon set up.

Long story short, I took the eel and the rocks out to treat the 55 with copper for Velvet, as I didn't have a QT big enough for all my livestock.

maybe retracted, i feel people overreact with aptasia, it can be managed easily. Maybe once a month i go in with aptasia x and remove any i see. You can try to superglue where it is and it should go away.
