I just saw my first aptaisia also in my tank. I was thinking about going with Berghias Nudibranch. Any thoughts?

Any time I have tried to use some type of chemical to rid my tank of aptasia, the tank then suffered an EXPLOSION of these pests. Maybe I didn't discover them quickly enouigh, maybe I didn't do due diligence in maintaining my attack I don't know but it always ended up with a mess of these and it happens FAST. Hope your path is better than mine. If you can, I would say get that rock out and sterilize it.

I can definitely do that. I'd be worried that it's pointless if the aiptasia has started spewing out whatever satanic process they do to replicate. But for the ease of which I can take that rock out, wouldn't hurt.

the easiest way I have found to eliminate these critters is Aptasia-X made by Red Sea. its completely reef safe, fast acting and simple to use. A little squirt and the Aptasia cant help but ingest it and implode usually within 2 or 3 minutes.

Only had to use Apatasia-X twice in my 240g mixed reef tank. That was about two years ago. Since then I am much more careful with quarantining and cleaning new frags before introducing them into the display tank … and have had to battle aptasia since.
