Is this what I think it is?

Update: hammer coral is back to normal, as are all the other corals. I broke up the large clumps of fluco and got it dispersed. And now we wait.

I had to order more Reef Flux, so it didn’t go into the tank until Thursday. I dissolved it much better this time around. Put the entire bottle in. I haven’t seen any improvement in GHA since the initial (botched) dosing. And I’m not sure I’m seeing any improvement since the second dosing but it’s only been 3 days. Dinos are getting worse. I’m trying to be patient but I’m worried the dinos are going to start causing livestock death. I’ve already lost some snails (not sure of the cause).

This entire situation is awful to be in. These things are hard enough to deal with one at a time.

Normally it takes 4 to 6 days in the higher lighted areas to see an impact from Fluco. Hopefully you will see the improvement on the shorter side of that!

It’s been 11 days since the second dose of Fluco. I turned the skimmer back on on day 4. GHA is definitely getting thinner and graying. I haven’t seen the decrease in GHA have any effect on the dinos. I’m keeping the dinos down as best I can by sucking up the worst areas with a turkey baster every 2-3 days. Not sure if I should keep waiting for the dinos to die off on their own or dose NeoPhos to boost the phosphates and help the process along. I’m waiting to do a WC at the 3 week mark (Reef Flux instructions) before adding phyto and pods. Not sure when I should add the carbon back. Phosphates are somewhere between 0.03 - 0.1
Salifert colors are difficult to read.
The dying algae should be releasing PO4 back into the tank, as well as not consuming as much. I doubt you will need to dose PO4 at this point. I wouldn't fight too hard to keep it down, but I wouldn't worry about increasing it, either. If you are above 0.03 you should be fine imo.

So do you think I should just keep doing what I’m doing and wait it out to see if the dinos die off now that my phosphates are coming up?

I had Dinos as well and did lots of treatments, I got the Dinos to stop growing and 50 astrea turbo snails plowed any Dinos left over and didn’t kill the snails very natural approach to check those snails out. Dinos killed every other type of clean up crew I had

I have lost a bunch of snails over the last few months, so I need to get more anyway. I wasn’t going to get any until the dinos die off, but if the astrea turbos aren’t affected, I will go ahead a put some in. Thanks!

Ok so it’s been 21 days since treating with Fluco. There is very little GHA left. Dinos are still out of control. I’m going to do a big water change in 2 days (when I have someone home to help me). Then start back my GAC and add a big bottle of phyto plus 2 bottles of copepods.
I added a few snails a couple days ago including a handful of astraea. I know I shouldn’t add livestock but I’ve lost quite a few snails. I only added 8 - just to replace what has died off over the last couple months.
So I know fluco knocks back all the good microfauna as well as the GHA. Aside from the phyto and pods, would it be helpful to add some bacteria in a bottle or is that crazy talk?

There might be some benefit in adding some bacterial products but I have never used them. I would not bother adding any nitrifying bacteria products.

Okay. Thank you! I will stick to the phyto and pods!
