IT HAPPENED AGAIN

The areas around his mouth? Looks more like an infection to me.

FWIW, clowns can be treated in a 5 gallon bucket with a small preset heater and an air stone or hob filter. Doesn’t take up much room and should only cost you $30. Just do large water changes every couple of days.
This is what I like to hear some realistic options but what should I treat them with and should I put the other fish and inverts in

Give this a good read and get back to us.
You said you didnt have room for a quarantine tank. A 5 gallon bucket isnt a much smaller footprint than a 5 to 10 gallon tank so naturally i wasnt going to suggest anything...i was trusting you when you said you cant set anything up....

Please do some research, all these questions have been answered in one form or another.

I’m going to check on them at lunch and I’ll go from there thanks for the help I’ll keep you posted

Just like taking care of any animal. If its sick, you need to provide treatment. If you cant provide treatment, maybe you should not be keeping living things at the moment.

Sorry to be so cut and dry but this is how i feel about not providing proper treatment for a sick being.

Wow, that's harsh. Are you saying that only people with enough money to afford multiple tanks can be in the hobby?

Fish tanks can be very therapeutic. Fish Of Hex has a program for Veterans with PTSD. Most of them do not have a lot of money.

OP, if your tank is not stocked with corals at the moment I'd suggest you take out your live rock/sand and treat directly in your DT. Once the fish are healthy you can put the LR and sand back in the tank.

I'd probably do API General Cure (contains Prazi and Metro) and Kanamycin (antibiotic). These two medications are safe to use together. It's going to cover most infections, brook, and flukes. You'll need to do another dose of the General Cure after 5 days. Be sure to use an airstone or filter that breaks the water surface as the prazi tends to zap the oxygen from the tank for a day.

Edit: Just read the post above. Sounds like everyone is doing better. Good to hear.

No where did I say or imply that, so I don't think it was a harsh comment.
Simply put, I was commenting on the lack of care for a sick fish. Responding to a " i dont have room to set up a QT tank" comment.
What would you expect a forum full of passionate hobbiests?
Thats like posting in a k9 forum, my dog has heartworms or parvo but i do not have time to take it to the vet.....any suggestions?

Never said I don’t have room, the money is the problem. I’m a college student it’s rough lol, but I just purchased another filter so In the event of failure I can always pull a filter from the display use it as a hospital in a 5gbucket

Youre right....you just said you cant. Sorry if i didnt want to ague why you could....
All good Chief but you did help me become more aware that I need a backup, I plan to have that extra filter just need a extra heater now then I’ll have a hospital bucket (lol) if I need it in emergencies. Battery backup is also another thing on the list... but this won’t be a big issue once I get to the point where I need a frag tank prob 5-10g that can be used as qt/ hospital If I move the frags

I’m sure if there were actually fish vets around people would use them.

I’m completely sure we have all accidentally killed a fish, coral or invert. There’s a learning curve. Unfortunately the learning curve involves living things.

Refer to the stickies for QT and fish disease. There's no magic bullet, unfortunately. Much more needs to be made of the fact that mixing corals/inverts and fish is an incredible undertaking, because you cannot cure the fish in the DT.
