It was this big... Now its this big...

its not a hybrid. i dont exactly want to throw away my 2 kessils

you don’t necessarily have to. I’m sure you could mount the kessils in front or behind the sunpower. Just mount them separately from the sunpower.

fine they have a dimmable version, sunpower is out of stock and doesnt seem to be a true hybrid. its also more $$

Im not trying to figure out how i can control the dimmable aspect of the fixture now :s
Looks like i could use an apex controller? does anyone have experience setting this up

I'm so glad I don't nerd out on lights...

i mean. I guess I did. In so far as I wanted to make sure I was being smart about what I went with.

now that I’ve got my fixture I’m just planning on running with t5s for the foreseeable future.

LEDs are cool and all. But meh.

Just texted you :p Last question before i go to bed and sleep on it. What mix of bulbs? I think i had a purple, blue and 2 actinic on my last fixture.
Depends on look you like. My nems have 2 blue plus 2 coral plus.
Reef has 4 blue plus 4 actinic

im running 2 coral plus 2 blue plus 2 actinic. Might play around and swap the actinics for purples at some point.

I believe it was Ron's thread where he was tracking moon in conjunction with spawning events? It's been a while since I dipped over there so I could have the wrong user in mind

@Ron Reefman goes into some detail about rfa spawning. Check out his build.
OK, it was only last night, but several pages back in R2R time that there was some talk about RFA spawning and my name got called out. Unfortunately marine biologists don't seem to have a handle on RFA reproduction. They have done the disection and have seen the male and female from the inside out, but they don't seem to have much info about when and why it happens. Here is my take and I've had multiple spawns and births in my tanks.

Feel free to ask questions of me, if you have any. But here is what I think I know. You need at least 2 RFAs to breed, a male and female. There is no known external way to tell males from females. The males spawn seems to always happen in the early evening and seems totally independent from any related moon or season cycle. The gestation period is very difficult to call, but my best info is that it takes between 25 and 35 days from the male spawning to the female releasing babies. The number of young released can vary wildly from just a few to as many as 50 or more. The babies also seem to always be released in the early evening.

I hope that helps if anybody was interested.
