Its impossible (parameter issues)

My frag tank is a 10 gallon and is covered. I still lose about a quarter gallon everyday and cannot not go more then 2 days without adding water. I keep a gallon container next to the tank and replace a little water 2 or 3 times a day when I get a chance just to keep it as stable as I can.
You are getting a lot of good advice on here. I know it is extremely hard to be patient and go slow but going the extra mile, researching everything your going to do your tank will help insure a year from now you will still be in the hobby and not selling your gear on Craig's list.

Why didn't you take the water from your old tank and put in the new one then top off with fresh seawater. It's like doing a water change. That what I did when I went from a 30 to a 50 and then added a chemical to help with cycling and had no issues. Don't it the same way on all my tanks.

My old tank has kinda crashed, paremeter off for no reason, lights too bright ( cant raise or lower or dim), so many snails hatch they crawl all over my corals and the corals never come out because of that, tank also runs too hot many other reasons. I just read this, i think it might be the case. Sum it up sice my liverock was in my old tanka foot away and was transferred into new tank causing next to no dieoff causing no ammonia spike. read this: You may not see a cycle at all or at least a very short one in this case..its more along the lines of a tank transfer than a new setup.. if your LR came from. Setup system and was not exposed to air very long then you should have little to no die off and no ammonia spike..

I recently set my 75 up in Nov.. used about 65# of LR that was curing in a garbage can for six months prior.. tested my tank 3days after setup and adding Nite- out nitrifying bacteria, and had a small trace of ammonia, 0 Nitrite and 5ppm nitrate... 3 days later I was at 0 for ammonia, 0 Nitrite and 10ppm nitrate...and have had the same reading since.. now in my case I treated this as a tank transfer from the start so I had my LR already cured in one container and all my critters in another...

Buying LR and having it shipped will undoubtedly have some die off and you'll see a traditional cycle.. but cycle-free or at least shortened cycle setups are possible if the procedures are done to do this..I do agree with G here, tho in let your tank sit and do its thing for now and take the time to "learn" your tank.. practice testing params.. and most of all observe whats going on in there.. patience will go far... So how many tanks are you running right now? Is it the 75 that is crashing? Lights are easy.... Reduce the time on or add layers of window screen to block out some of the light.
Are you sure you have snails all over your corals and not something else?
I don't think it is very common for snails to bother corals..maybe I'm wrong , just have not seen any of my 100 plus snails bother any coral. If I was you I would concentrate on getting one tanks parameters under control before starting any new projects. You won't get anywhere by constantly making changes but not taking the time to observe the results and learn by them . Believe me, my tank has been up a year , and just now is stating to stabilize. Lost many corals with high nitrates, but I now have satisfaction watching the corals that made a come back and thrive. I learned a TON by going through this and being patient.

right now im running 2 established tanks and starting the 10 gallon so 3 total. i dont have 75 i have a 39,29 and 10. the 29 is crashing and the lights are built in hood so its impossible to raise. yes im sure i have 1,00s of little black dot (snails crawling around). and they fall of side of tank and land on corals,

No 75?? Then this statement by you is very confusing...

OP, tanks crashing for no reason is a reason right there. I am not trying to lecture but if you have a tank crashing, starting over does not resolve your issue. There is always a reason for a tank to crash.

No! lol i said this is what i read from another website, so thats someone elses tank, thats having same problem with no ammonia spike as me.

Lol, i been in hobby for 2.5 years but this cycle is different because im using live rock right next to me, so next to no dieoff is happening. Normally you would cycle a tank for 2 weeks with live rock from store, you cycle that long because die off happens during transportation. So i no how to cycle a tank, i just think this tank is different.

Ok , I am so confused I re-read beginning of post. I think it comes down to this ..... The test kits you are using and your hydrometer are unreliable and pretty much useless. You need to get accurate test kits and a better way to check salt. Otherwise you are chasing numbers that don't mean anything.
 
Lol ill say this for 30th time. I used a dip stick to read the the nitrate only, just to get a idea. I use red sea test kit for every other parameter. So unless your saying red sea test kits are unrelible then i dont think that's right because people say there the best you can get.
 
If your hydrometer was reading that low, and your calc, mag and alk were off that much, your hydrometer must be WAY off. Are you using the same hydrometer for all your tanks? Maybe all your tanks are high in salt content and that's part of the problem.

sorry i just read your comment. Its not a band aid, i don't like how old tank turned out. So im trying again,its like 100s of people who get algae in their tank and takes over, people shut down tank and start again. Mike thate xactly the problem i think, i lost my hydrometer ( good one) and had to buy a new one so i bought a kent hydrometer and i think the kent is very off.
