) soon the Gold one will be ready for fragging i think its 3-4 pieces now if fragged . Dunno how many heads . But its my plan for a r2r express contribution when i can get out.

I was looking at a very comical torch thread. Not to get into too much detail. These special lineage gold torches get baked at 400 par.

Yeah… mines gotta be higher par… ive never tested my tank. But a chalice got bleached midway. And cyphastrea is growning on the barebottom

I think you want a little clearance at the top of that weir so if it gets clogged the water stays in the tank!

I was asking F I S H Y one day why my GSP had such long Polyps ( like an inch or more) and the GSP I see in his tank or yours, doesn't. I assumed it was a lighting thing. Like my lightening is less intense, so therefore it stretches more. He mentioned that it could also be the kind of GSP or a combination of both. I assumed they were all the same, which in hindsight is a dumb assumption. I still don't know that I will allow GSP back in the cube, but I'm interesting in learning about the different variations.

I have what appears to be 6 different strains of GSP. Some long polyps, some metallic (long/short polyps), some that is almost yellow, some that looks like super green grass and so on. They have all been under the same light in the same system and all look different.

Even though people do not like it, as it grows like a weed, I do and it works great to cover overflows and to stick on a rock by itself.

Here shortly today, I will have them all in a 32 biocube, as they are in the 180 sump currently. Between them and the millions of palys that others also hate, it makes for a nice color contrast when all the weeds are shoved in a tank to do whatever they want lol.

It's not dumb. Not enough coral are listed by species. Some species have a lot of strains. Others just have a couple. Territory also is important.
Euphyllia only has torches, but when you get into regions. They look different in size and they all hate each other.

Could be hard with all the reclassification to follow along. Gsp probably moves a lot less frequently than acans and hammers and the like though.

I feel the same applies to BTA. They are all classified as the same, but there are so many differences from BTA to BTA, they need to be gone through again. They want to call them all quadricolor. Yet, the DNA is so different from a GBTA to an RBTA to even a CSB. That DNA decides what zoo resides int he nem and the nems will die without that zoo. They cannot process the sugars from zoo not coded to be accepted by their dna. Hence why the colors change.

It is a long road on this, from corals to nems to even fish. Just not enough care given to get things correct.

I miss the rocks that came in with GSP grown around paly stalks and just the head of the paly popping out. Made for an awesome looking piece.

And this causes issues with people not believing the csb can't be safely mixed with other btas. So, their csb gets murdered in the process. Other's do everything from cipro and carbon to reduce warfare.
