It's Just a Tank

You never know until you try. I'd love to see that.

I'm curious as well on the lta colors. Not a huge deal. Beautiful as is. But this morning it was 3x the size it is right now. Severely light starved. I should have did a fts this morning for reference.
Exactly , I want to think they reproduce like RFA. But little is known , for all we know they could be hermaphrodite , I’d love for LTA babies, I really need to get a breeder box first haha

I am a bit alarmed. This lta took a poop bigger than my firefish.

I cleaned my skimmer and ran water tests. Do you think this nem will help bring up nitrates and phosphates?

I also hate removing my skimmer, I get worried I am going to break something down there.

Mine did the same thing for like the first 2 weeks ! I just attributed to acclimating / getting used to new lighting

Think of it as free food for the hermits and snails?

I am more worried about my firefish getting snagged.

I don't have no hermits anymore. As far as snails, only the conch roams whenever. The others are out at night. So, hopefully.

Aww
, ye the tentacles of LTA are pretty sticky compared to BTA ime but I think as long as fire fish doesn’t think it’s a bed lol
So, far, everyone has avoided the lta like the plague. The wrasse will not go near the crabs.

Not yet anyhow.

The most sticky anemone i ever encountered was on the beaches if Seattle,WA. I poked at one and it clung on like saran wrap. I left them alone after that. I was more worried about injuring them.

Lta is about half that sticky, bta holds no contest. Or, mines a not so sticky bta...

This morning, i think the lta wanted more flow.

Mimicking a wild lta picture I saw, i buried him foot deep in just sand.

Maybe green lta who lost colors?

Interested to see Both wear it ends up and the color it chooses to wear.

Condi and LTA are both movers in my tank. Condi is on the move constantly, LTA moves any time of flow changes. That could be a few inches that could be a foot and a half.

I figured it was a flow thing. Looking into adding a wave maker. Might help the sps as well.

I can change flow a ton in my 180 and the LTA never move. I always give them a rock to lean against and rocks around at least 75% around them. This has worked well in any tank I have had and for any LTA I have had.

This is what I mean. There are 2 nems that have been here in this same spot for 2 years. Flow has changed numerous times and so have the lights from MH, to LED/Hybrid back to just LED of a different brand.

This makes a lot of sense. The location my LTA is sitting in currently has a rock in front and to the left, wall to the rear and just a slight crevice to the right. The foot is essentially dug into the sand in a hole between rock.

I am sure multiple threats were inserted along the lines somewhere. They just haven't decided to find out if the blender is a bluff.

When diving areas around the world with LTA present (same applies to condy), they are almost always in more flow that we provide (i provide a lot lol) and always in areas where they can bury and have the foot surrounded. Just take a look at the snorkeling and diving thread. Rons wife took an awesome pic of a condy and it shows exactly that.

I haven’t lost a fish yet to any nem ,

Good to know on the btas. I love that gold hue on your lta. Hoping mine richens up in color as well. The gold hue is there. Just faint.

It’ll get there , you can really only see the glow during all blue lighting , during the days it’s just purple

That just means you need some carpet in your life..

I lose about a fish a month to the seafoam green carpet. Most recently a YCW this week.
Lol next on the list is a carpet , but now I’m nervous for the fish , there already is little real estate due to the nems. I’ve heard carpets are the stickiest and aggressive , do the clowns host with it?
