Sometimes you ever know what you have lurking around in there. My dad has a 180g that he has had for for the last 25 years. He kept losing fish all of a sudden too. I blamed his not so secure lids (it's a built in so can't really check surrounding areas for dried up jumpers). Obviously he was getting extremely frustrated. One day I was just randomly looking around his tank with a flashlight and saw this staring back at me.
It was actually pretty startling! He has had all his live rock for an eternity so this guy must have come in as a baby on a frag, coral, etc. needless to say we had to tag team taking the whole tank apart. Of course this guys burrow was in the back bottom corner...
Sure looks like a fish murderer, huh? Whole process was a pain in the butt, but the happy ending is he hasn't lost any other fish. Phew! Moral of the story: dip those new additions thoroughly!
