Jack's Grotto (an update) LPS Dominated !!!!

Watch the hammer corals. These guys are very picky about the water condition. If they close up or show any sign of unhappiness, check the water and act fast. Good luck.

Edit: I thought I saw a hammer coral in your old tank.....I checked again and I don't see any hammer corals; only the frog spawn :)

yup keeping close eye on my corals and inverts.... as of now all good

Hello all

tank is doing pretty good and no deaths of corals nor any inverts.... but still have issues with brown algae....

got new corals last week and all are doing great....

will try to upload a short video soon...

Greetings

The tank is doing good and i did some couple of additions. Not really happy with the brown algae part of the tank, as all the tests and everything is normal.

Here is the short crapy video of my tank... still need to do lot of work on the tank, many corals those were on the sand bed are placed on the rocks and made more neat, but still have few lying here and there.

Any suggestions and critics are most welcome need to improve a lot on my tank.

Enjoy the vidoe :)

@SantaMonica link means i am not getting any dealer or LFS here where i stay... so i have asked a friend to hand carry it for me....

Greetings,

How is everyone ? The tank is doing good and corals are stable...

Have few issues with the corals though.. here they are

1) one of my plate coral is turning black what to do ?
2) all corals except torch is doing great.. torch coral is melting day by day.... what to do ? and how to save them ?

Thank You very much for the answers in advance...

Meanwhile enjoy the video of my frogspawn

My tank has low stocking...
i.e. 1 yellow tang, 1 blue tang, 2 percula, 1 flame, 1 goby, 1 wrasses, 1 six live wrasse

this are the only fishes i have in my 6 footer

Does low fish stocking affects the corals ?

Or should i add few more fishes ??

Is it advisable to add 4 yellow tang in the tank after 1 yellow is established in the tank or it ll dominate and kill the new yellows ??

Thank You

For my query no 2. here is the picture of my orange rim plate which is turning black...

what to do ??

Any ways here is the video of me feeding my fishes...

Please reply ... for my above queries...

Give them time, a good portion of the people on here are from America where it's the middle of the night when your were posting. Everybody was asleep! They will see it and post when they wake up.

In the mean time, I agree... adding livestock (corals and fish) really quickly will not help the brown algae on the bottom. Its hard to tell from the pictures but it seems like that's algae growing on your plate coral. Have you tried gently blowing it off with a turkey baster?

on corals its not algae... i tried doing it :)
it is coral decaying...

Sorry sweetie. I'm sure somebody will more experience with plate corals will chime in soon. [HASHTAG]#reefsquad[/HASHTAG]
