japanese deep water zoanthid care

I was wondering where everyone keeps their deepwater zoanthids, how much light, and what kind of flow, etc.?
I bought some killer colonies from Cherry Corals last month and one is doing great, but the other seems to be losing some luster.
I was told lower light areas.
What do you think?

If the term deepwater is true, I would think lower light, in a bluer spectrum would be a good idea...but I have never had any of the japanese deepwaters.

I keep mine on the sand bottom (t-5 lightings) Low flow. They seemed to be growing pretty fast. Started with about 20 polyps, 4 months later close to 60-70. Hope this helps

lower light finn..i have mine in the sandbed...i even frag them and still they open everyday...open and happy..never have any problem with them..i didnt move them around too..

Whats wrong with the flaming hornets? I have a colony and they are super hardy.

All of them are happy and open, just one colony seems to be not as bright as when I got them.

I suggest keeping them shaded! The ones i got from cc from the group buy are all in low light areas in my tank and are thriving!

I have 4 different frags and have had them for over 4 months now. I have even fragged 2 of them. I have mine on the sand bed but out in the open under 250w MH and they are growing like a champ with the most awesome colors!

They are doing very well other than the color.

I was keeping my flaming hornets right up top about 8" under a 250 watt DE 14k phoenix and they did great and were adding on new polyps at a pretty fast rate. I have since moved them to the bottom and they are still growing awesome. The colors are just as bright as when i got them.

I have the ones that looks like the reverse of purple hornets. I have them med flow on the sandbed under 150 watt MH. Mine have doubled in size over the past two months.
