japanese deep water zoanthid care

Its the only zoa i own. Mostly do sps, but when i saw those on ebay, i threw in a heavy max bid and won. Very hardy zoa imo.

Mine are close to the sand bed with mid to high flow and they grow well on me. Also, They GLOW under actinic but my point-n-shot camera can't capture the color. The pic was taken under roughly 11000K.

To clear up, there's actually no such thing as japanese deepwater zoanthids, it was a term invented by some scumbag etailer I'm guessing, would be nice to know who coined that one.

They're actually from bali in water from normal depth, just from different collecting locations. They also do come in as colonies fairly regularly, they just mainly go to stores that don't know much about the current hype which is why they're still "rare". Every so often someone what knows about the trend will get their hands on them and make about 1000% profit on the rock, which is really unfortunate.

I see a full sized colony of these types of zoos a minimum of once a week, last week I saw about 8-12 colonies, each one over 200 polyps...
