Jaw Dropper Acro

keith keep me in mind when you do some Trimmings on that Piece! :) its coming along really Nicely.
I don't think I'm letting go of any frags for a while but I'll let you know when the time comes

Can't wait to see this Acro all grown up in a year or two. This coral looks to have some great potential in your tank.

Bryan

Thanks! I'm doing my best to get it big fast. I think I'll have a mini colony in around 8-10 months.

I agree the best jaw dropper I have seen. I can only imagine how nice it is to see personally if the pics are so great.

You are way ahead of me with the JD.
I gave mine away to a good friend cause it wasn't doing that great in my system.
Next week I will go see it and I hope it got some color to it.
If you don't mind I'll show some update pics on here too.

Happy to share the thread as long as it's about care color and growth, pics are welcome I'd love to see how others are doing. Also would be nice to know about the lighting and parameters it's being kept in.

Wow that looks great!! I like the orange on that! Is that's a jaw dropper acro as well?!

I forgot to take the pic last week. I was a little sidetracked trying to fix a low nighttime PH problem. I added a much bigger skimmer. I also ran my refugium all night(12hrs) instead of the 8 hours a night it was running. As a result I fixed the low ph but also droped the nutrient level enough to get some pastel colors in some of my corals including the Jaw Dropper. I sort of like it this way as long as growth is still good I may keep running my system like this.

Ph is 8.2 by late afternoon and 7.8 fist thing in the morning. It was dropping to 7.6 at night and a few things didn't like it very much. The pink lemonade and the sunset montis seem to be the most effected but I couldn't say why.

Here is my frag colouring up and encrusting. Tips are getting more red/peach and the polyps are starting to turn blue. This picture is under 2x ATI Blue+ only so fluorescence is a bit exaggerated.
