Finally got the 120 up and running after 4 long months, a lot of hiccups along the way, stuff missing, not working, not instock, hurricane Sandy, etc. I am just glad its completed now so just thought I'd share some pictures with you guys/gals.
Old tank (55g) before the move and break down:
Equipment List
Elos 120 tank and Stand
CoralTheory custom acrylic sump
Super Reef Octopus 2000ss space saver
Pacific Sun Metis Hyperion R2 light 2X150W
Neptune Apex with WXM
Vortech MP40Wes (X2)
Tunze ATO
Eheim Jager Heater
TLF 150 Phosban reactor
New tank in basement, 120 was the biggest I could have fit down the narrow staircase.
Egg crates on bottom glass part
BRS dry ECO rock, took some time to design but locking together pretty well
Transferred into tank, couldn't replicate it 100% even though I took like 10 pictures with different angles but I like the new one better
Top shot:
light hangers up
Fill sand bed and mixed salt water
Pacific Sun Hyperion R2 arrived:
Light up, heaters and powerhead in, then Hurricane Sandy came, tank was in this stage for 3-4 weeks, so I took the opportunity cycle the tank with a dead shrimp,
Thanks to my friends Jimmy and Vince at CoralTheory.com for building me the custom sump and set up the plumbing and equipment:
A mess of wires, clean it up the best I could during my free time:
Tunze ATO, very easy to set up can calibrate, didn't even read the manual
Neptune Apex, gave me the most headache trying to figure it out, and linking it to the vortechs. But after some trial and error, got it to work and LOVE THIS THING
Some final shots as of now:
