Jebao RW-4 review?

Hey guys

I'm planning to switch up my powerheads from koralia wavemakers to the jebAo... I wanted some honest feedback from anyone who has them

I have my koralias on a wavemaker and it creates a nice sway action but I don't like the way it looks. Too bulky. I wanted to get one pump to put only on one side of my tank and the mp10's are just too expensive for me at the moment.

I have a 60 gallon 4 feet long tank. I want some honest feedback from people who have used one and if it's enough flow. I only keep mostly lps and I don't want too much flow.

I like the setting options on the jebao , and I'm wondering if the reef mode setting or the "random" setting creates a good random flow in the tank

Thanks
I have to agree, i don't think the. Rw-4 is going too be enough.

The SW-8 comes with the controller that you can have the remote control and is Apex compatible.

But the SW is the same PP pump.

You also wont get better random flow than with the AQLink S1 controller...

So i should go with the sw-8 then?
If you want it to connect to an Apex controller, then yes. Order from Fish Street and make sure you request the apex adapter.

Off topic, but on an mp 10 , if you run reefcrest does it give corals a good random sway back and forth or is it mostly just one direction?

Jebao doesn't show the sw-8 on they're web site, has it been discontinued?
It's a new controller for the PP series pump. Not sure what is with their website, but it lacks a ton of information.

Reef crest is one direction of random flow. To get the sway, you need two pumps. That goes for most pumps.

Actually that controller was designed by AQLink aka Coralbox. All this information can be found here.

For the price of 2 MP10QD pumps, you can purchase 6 Jebao SW-8's w/ controllers and power supplies with money left over. ;)

I had 2 PP-15s on my 125, both had motors burn out within 4 months. The LFS I purchased them from sent them back to replace the motors and have been fine for the past 2 months. If they crap out on me again within the year, I won't buy any more Jebao. My LFS actually stoped carrying them due to issues their customers have been experiencing

Ethyl i don't have a apex controller, but i may add one later. Can i just get the sw8 and get the aqlink later?
Yep. And it's not the aqlink but just Apex Adapter. The sw-8 comes with the aqlink controller and for $15 more you can get the remote control to go with it. (kind of gimmicky imo)

When ever I hear of two pumps crapping out about the same time, makes me wonder what else could be at fault(electrical wise). I've never had a pump completely fail. I did have 1 out of 4 RW pumps that would work for a few days then stop. Then work for a few days, then stop. Come to find out, there was a short in the plug adapter/power supply. But never completely crap out.
