Jebao WP not working

I got the new controller and same thing happens. I remove the impeller and same thing happens. I disconnect the motor/impeller and the controller lights look normal. Looks like it's the motor.

Anyone know a place that just sells that piece???

Sounds like a bad power supply.

I'm not sure why folks bash Jebao so much. I know they aren't the high quality products but for the price of the other brands you can buy 5+ pumps. I just figure they are just throw away pumps.

This is my take too. I use them, but I've had three powerheads and two return pump go bad now.

I don't use their return pumps any more because they are a liability. The powerheads on the other hand, not a big deal if one stops working.

Ya, looks like it could be a bad motor. Time to replace. WP's have always been problematic. RW's have a much better track record. Ive used the RW's now for over two years with no problems. Just replaced their stock controllers with a JB wave controller, way more controllable.

I agree, for the money they can't be beat. Much cheaper than vortec's. One goes bad, replace and still save money long term.

Even the Jebao return pumps are so reasonable that I consider it a critical spare and have one on the shelf just in case. I literally can buy 3-4 pumps for the same price as one Vectra. I would love to have a Vectra, mind you, but I prefer to install a Jebao, buy a spare, and spend the rest on livestock. Just my two cents.

I'm going to ask the stupid question one last time in an attempt to save you money. Did you remove the entire pump, remove and clean the impeller and drive magnet, clean the motor cavity, and reinstall? I've had the things stop working because of bacterial film buildup in the motor cavity.

I had the same mindset until my Jaebo return failed, then within a few months, the spare failed. I can't run the risk of this happening when I'm out of town or even just at work.

jebao got no warranty. the only way to get around is to get with ur seller. a legit one will send out replacement since he or she cares about her reputation.

I am not 100% sure that I got the actual hole that the impeller goes into on the motor side. I will give that a try just in case.

If the impeller is taken out, should the lights on the controller still flash? I would think that with that removed, all things would be normal.

Yea I'm right there with you. No cheap returns, lights or dosing pumps
