has anyone used any of the new jebao rw series powerheads i see that they compare to the ecotechs but a 1/4 the cost. plus you can sink them together

Yes. Rw-4 and rw-8. Rw-8 is so powerful I had to get rid of it lol. If it's a tank that 10-120 gallons I recommend the rw-4 and for anything above especially with coral and sps then that rw-8 and the higher ones are for 300 gallons and up

Just got my RW-4 and this thing can move some water, its a lot stronger than I thought, and much better than the wp pumps

Shoot I just ordered two of the 8s for my 60g cube. I guess I just won't ever run them at full speed.

I had a Rw15 on my 75g and it was really powerful! I bought a 10$ universal power supply and it worked perfectly. I liked having the wider flow of the Rw15 with less power.
Fyi the Rw series pumps can not be turned down in "Else" mode just like the Wp series. If you like else mode like I do then a universal power supply is a great fix. [emoji4]

Sorry, non technical person here. What's a universal power supply? Sounds like I'll need one for my 8s maybe. I'm assuming this is something I could pick up at Lowe's? TIA

More then likely you'll find them at a computer store. They're normally for Laptops and I got mine on ebay.

I have the 15 in a 100 gallon rimless tank and I can't run it past half with out all the water getting pushed over the edge

I have two RW-8 in my 90, linked together and love them. I run them about 1/2-3/4 power.

I run two rw8's on my back wall faced towards my front glass at half power. Then I have an Mp40 on one side of my tank and an MP10 on the other running at 80 percent reefcrest. All of these are in a 4ft 150 gallon marineland.

I used an RW-4 on my 29 biocube for about 6 months. It suddenly died. I ended up going w/ a Vortech quiet drive this time around, as I didn't wanna keep taking chances on the Jebao. I did like it for the time I had it though.

I had the sudden stoppage too. I found the giving them a quick clean and making sure the impeller and 'cage' were tightly set fixed them.

I thought mp10 can only go on 3/8 inch glass max

im sure 2 r8's would be plenty if ya ran tthem close to full power...2 r4's in my 80 gallon at 70% keeps everything moving

i decided to go with the vortech mp40 i have been reading a lot of reviews and people are saying the jebaos just arent lasting some people arent even getting a year out of them where the vortech all i hear are great things

just about 9 months and mine are working fine, you can replace them 3 times and still come out cheaper , smaller footprint is nice though ill give ya that . I agree the idea isn't to replace something every year but I got half my livestock with the $275 difference . I agree you're probably getting the better pump but for that price it better be!:)
