I have had this for a few months, about a month of buying this it started to bleach i moved it to lower flow and lower light to see if it helped. It started to get color back then these "patches" started poping up and growing. I talked to some one at the frag swap and he brought up nudi s may be the cause. i looked a little last night for them but not sure what im looking for. i love this piece and is one of my favorites. what can i do to save it. All my other sps are fine and thriving. Also have a superman monti i bought the same time from the same place and is just plain bleaching from the base up. here are pics of both. any advice would be great. I

Maricultured??

the local fish store said aquacultered but i think maricultured, jedi has string attached to the bottom like it was tired into a gride or somthing and the superman has a tag on it. should i dip it in somthing really dont want these to die 8(

I had a small frag that had the nudis. I ended up just chucking that piece because I did not want to battle them. It was a small frag though and nowhere near the size of yours. I had a pic of the nudis but couldn't find it or I would post it. It looked the same as the zoa eating nudi but white rather than brown.

what will kill them? i have alot of montis in my tank.. i dont want to battle them if i find any tonight when my lights go off im going chuck it. I hate to do that becaue i paid a pretty good amount for this but i do not want to battle them.

its a monti eating nudi 1 so far. was big enough to see the body and things that come off its body. 8( 8( how can i kill these i just ordered coralrx but it will take a few days help. will iodine dip help?? melaflex?

the superman i just found 10+ dammm 8( im sad i found out these where from quality marine

H2o2 dip the colonies...hopefully the nudis stayed on those pieces...Good luck!
i have a 3ft by 3ft frag tank that they are in and are placed on the other side of the tank far far away from the other montis i have. all the others seem to be fine so far. will these nudis go after my acros? or any thing else?

I bought some zoas and softies from the same shop around the time you bought the superman and jedi and I have quite a few zoas melting. I have yet to see a Nudi on my stuff, but that doesn't mean they aren't there.

these are monti eating nudis feeding on just montis i think. What zoas did you get from them?

use a Bayer dip. It will kill them all and anyhing else on the coral. Just search for Bayer dip and you will find a lot of info. Coral Rx is expensive (as are all the other dips). I have a brand new $80 bottle of coral Rx Pro, wish I knew you needed it. I don't use anything to dip except Bayer for the past 2 years+

Edit, I am not sure about the egg life cycle so to be safe I would dip at least 3x. Dip, wait 3 weeks, dip, wait 3 weeks, final dip

Waiting 3 weeks is too much time. When I had them I took all montis out. If they are on those two there is a good chance they are on the others as well. If you put them in a frag tank with other montis then they will get them too.
What I did was dip all montis in coral Rx. While dipping I inspected for eggs. Used a toothbrush to get those off. Waited 2 days then repeated the procedure. I did this every 2 days for about two weeks. I have never seen them since.

I had these a while back. Removed all montis from main tank that I could, bought 5 lemon wrasse (many different names) that eat a few different pests and qt the rest. I will tell you this, it's a long, long fight. The wrasses managed to save what I couldn't get out of the tank.

Due to a heater malfunction in my qt I lost all that were still in the qt, ziggys stardust (mature colony), sunset, and half my Jedi. I would go in twice a day, first thing in the morning before lights came on and about an hour after they turned off with glue and tweezers.

Honestly with the smaller frags you have ild just dump em and get new ones when your sure they are gone.

Oh yes, digitata and spongodes are also on the menu....they really, really like the spongodes. Had to throw that one away due to egg infestation.

I had a small outbreak of these once they are a PITA. I ended up using super glue gel and gluing all the white areas and any cracks/openings on disk or rock. I thought i read they usually stay on the bottom of the monti. I also dipped Coral Revive once a week for 3 weeks. I havent seen them since.

Well I took them out and they are now in my pico 8g this Tank only has a few condys and some gsp, hope they live, they can only die more. 45 days ago I bought these this sucks
