Jeff's 150 Build - The Salt Box

Jeff an angler would be sweet, but with all those pods have you considered a mandarin?
I wouldn't want to do anything to disrupt the pod population. I'm sure it would be happy down there though.

Tanks looking super awesome.

I've got a couple strawberry shortcake across frags coming, one of them has your name all over it. (My excuse to maybe see the salt box in person lol)

I've got a shortcake. I'll be picking up a pearlberry frag soon, it's on order. Here's my shortcake.

It's encrusted to about 2" in diameter, only about 3/4" inch tall. Not seeing crazy growth these days, nutrients too low.

I designed my stand such that I would have a small area that could serve as a work surface, for water testing, fragging, whatever. In the long term, I thought that it might be an area for another smaller tank, quarantine or a frag tank. Anyway, for the work surface I plan to use some pencil tile and mosaic style tile, and finally bought a sample to visualize what it may look like. Once the stand is skinned, I think it'll look good.

Finally bought and cut a piece of concrete backer board, and hope to have my work surface finished next payday.

A teeny tiny battle has developed...

Looks like the setosa is going to lose out to what might be a tri-color.
Made some room today between these two. I was going to just let them do battle, but the setosa looked like it was taking all the damage, and both colonies are so small. So I intervened. Got a nice frag out of it.

Thought it was a tri-color when I bought it, but am not so sure now. We'll see what it does in some different lighting.

Super excited! Picked up a milestone piece tonight, a frag of Oregon tort. And, have a piece of ORA Pearlberry on the way!

Hope to add a couple more pieces soon!

Pics coming.

Crappy cell phone pic. Doesn't do the blue justice.

Just read the entire thing. Beautiful tank. Gives me inspiration for the 180 I'm working on. Just picked up the tank last weekend and have been planning ever since.

I think it's healthy, but my wall hammer is kind of changing color. Is this bad? Is it indicative of some problem? Originally, it was all the same as the left hand side, from an orange hue to a more pink hue.

Bummed out!

After cleaning my MP40 impellers, my flow increased enough to push my frag of purple monster over into another coral. This morning when I found it, the growth tips were dead.

I love this piece, and DO NOT want to lose it. Is there anything I should do?

This time of year, for about an hour and a half, the sun shines through the window and casts light across the tank. It reveals a lot I don't normally see, and makes for better pictures.

More nemesis...

...although, I'm not convinced this it the type or color of those that eat zoas. I just don't chance it and get rid of them when I can.
