I need to change the 'scape on this baby but this is my 5g nano, it's got a big turbo snail, a nassarius snail that has laid a ton of eggs on the back and disappeared from sight, a bumblebee snail, 3 red leg hermits, a sexy anemone shrimp, 3 zoo frags, a blue mushroom frag and an acan frag that isn't doing so well at the moment for unknown reasons. Oh, and a hitch-hiker star fish and a couple of smaller baby snails that came in off a ride of the turbo snails back. Any ideas on if i should break this rock and change the scape to take advantage of the top space feel free to share! :) p.s. the tank is a little bit more white than blue like it shows in the picture.

Nice nano.. What lighting are you using? Your acan might be getting to much light.. Mine seems to like lower levels or on the sand

I currently have a 3 watt led light strip with 2 white and 2 blue leds and the light that came with the tank that has a choice of 9 white leds or 6 blue leds. I'm not sure what the wattage is on that (not that it matters much). I had it placed on the right/middle of the rock before and then just recently moved it to the bottom when I got the zoa frags. And I have a small 50 gph pH in the lower back of the tank pointed where there's not a lit of flow.

I'd put the acan on the sand bed. Otherwise, the live rock is purely asthetics. Whatever you like is what matters.

Cool little tank! :)

OK guys I decided to take a hammer and flathead to my rock. I used the same parameter saltwater to rinse the rock before putting it into the tank and made sure my corals were away from everything while I shifted things around and replaced them. They're still a little upset at the moment but everyone seems good otherwise. I turned the white lights on so you could see it better. What do you think?

Haha sorry the pic cane out sideways...

I like it...good use of space for a 5G nano. Looking forward to seeing how the tank matures.

You seem pretty good at this nano tank thing. Can you check out my thread? It's my first saltwater and it's a ten gallon nano.

Rock scape looks great.
Thanks. I've since moved the corals around to better positions but now I'm having a problem with one of my mushrooms. It seems I have aptasia on the rock right behind one of the mushrooms and it looks visibly upset. Does anyone know what I can do to remove it?

I should also mention that this aptasia is on the rock that the mushroom frag is on.

You can use a seringe full of boiling hot Ro and squirt in its mouth or you can use super glue or epoxy to cover where the aptasia is at.
Okay thanks. I don't have epoxy or glue so I'll try the boiling hot water. Is a little close to the mushroom tho should I be worried about that?
