As long as you squirt the aptasia in its mouth you should be fine. The hot water will turn cool pretty fast in the aquarium water.

You are very welcome. Just keep an eye on the aptasia to see if it is going to come back. If it does just repeat the process as needed. Sometimes they die the first try and sometimes it may take a couple of times.

Will do, I had to do it twice because the first time I did it i didnt do it quick enough. so I lifted the frag up and got him right in the hole he was fixed into.

Hey everyone, just wanted to post an update on the state of my nano. Had to shuffle my corals around but finally they all seem to be happy with their places aside from one of my smaller mushrooms that decided he did not like his place on the frag. I found him in the sand so I gently placed him on the rock and he seems good where he is now. My acan coral still isn't doing the greatest but I upgraded my lighting a bit and it seems to be recovering somewhat. I still left it on the bottom as I don't really have another place to put it that's a little closer to the light but hopefully now that my water parameters are more stable it might recover. Still having a hard time keeping my nitrates below 40 ppm but I'll keep at it.

Well it wasn't a major upgrade but petsmart had led light by national geographic (i was hesitant at first but decided to try it anyway) it's got 3x4 leds in it mixed white and blue and I can add one more set of 4 if I'd like. I decided to stick the spare led strip light I had to the lamp so it wouldn't be wasted. I can post a pic of it if you'd like.

It came with two types of clips for different size tanks and the on/off switch is like a sensor that you tap and there's also a dimmer on the fixture as well which I think is cool. It comes with two snap on white and blue leds (two sets of 4 leds) and you can buy others seperately for around 10 bucks. Not a bad buy for less than 50$ if you ask me.

I know they like lower light than sps, but if it keeps getting worse maybe you should try and move it up a little. Is it browning or just shriveling? Also, a little target feeding with some mysis might help.

Little bit of both. Hard thing is the only other place I have to place it is in the center of the rock but I'm afraid it's going to be too close to my mushrooms. I'll have to buy some from my LFS when I go to get more r/o.

Is it still putting out the feeding tentacles? Perhaps you could buy one of the cheap light meters that measures in lux and then search this site for a conversion chart to par. Then you could get a much better idea of what you have going on in there and what would be the best place to put it.

I will have to look into that. Recently I haven't seen them but I haven't been home much the last few days other than for a few hours after the lights come on and a few hours before they go out. This is how it's looking with and without the blue lights.

Not at all, although I'm pretty sure my nitrates also play a part in this as I've had a hard time getting them down below 40 ppm. I've been trying to do small water changes once a week to help with that so we'll see how it goes.
