JF Bloodshot & Utter Chaos arrives

As promised, here are two updated pictures I took of the JF Bloodshot.

This picture was taken on 2/6/13. It's hard to tell, but a baby polyp (tiny nub) was growing on the back side.

Below is a picture taken on 2/23/13. On the right is the baby polyp that's been growing very quick in the last 2 weeks. I'm sure in another 2 weeks, the polyp will be the full mature size and colored up.

On the left side of the main Poppa Pump polyp is another baby (tiny nub) growing.

I'll wait another 4 weeks before fragging a polyp and saving it for future growout.

How have the small utter chaos ones come along? I just got one shipped from ExoticFrags out of Fresno. Looks happy but it was the same size as yours. Im wondering if it will get bigger.

The Utter Chaos were fresh cut, so unfortunately they didn't last no more than 1 week.

I hate to see nice polyps close up and never open up again.

The blood shots are awesome I got my hands on a few polyps about a year ago and I love them. Congrats : )

Man you are lucky to have babies that quickly. mine never gave me a single baby 'till recently and it has been a year without growth. lol
talk about slow grower.

Wow those utters look nice, personally I like them better than bloodshots

Sorry FragStar101, but I can't agree with you.

I have two colonies of the Utter Chaos and as nice as they look, they just don't compare to the teal color of the JF Bloodshots.

If I have polyps that don't open up after a few days, some would say to move it to a low flow area. I tend to do the opposite and move it to a medium flow / medium light and typically the polyps will begin to open up.

I love the JF Bloodshots too.

By any chance, how many polyps did you end up with after 1 year of growth?

No, the UC's weren't from you. I bought them from a reefer in Southern Cali last December.

Thanks for the great customer service in offering to replace them!

Where do you have you JF Bloodshot colony?

I have mine in a low flow / low light section of my tank.

Then again, my tank water is a little dirtier than yours, since you have an SPS tank and I primarily have LPS.

What kind of camera are you using?

As funny as this sounds, but I use my wife's P&S Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX9V. I love the picture quality.

I also have a Nikon D90, but no macro lens.

Here is a better picture of the JF Bloodshot frag where you can clearly see the baby polyp sprouting on the left hand side, as well as the semi mature polyp that grew a few weeks ago.

How long does it take to grow. I have mine for one month and are not seeing any growth.
