JF Homewrecker Grow Out Thread!

Hello all,
I was one of the lucky few to purchase the amazing Homewrecker from the Jason's winter live sale. I received my frag last Tuesday on the 9th. I wanted to track the progress of this frag to see how it grows and any changes that might happen. I'll be posting a picture every week to show progress.

Tank Parameters

• Ca - 420ppm
• Kh - 8.4dKH
• Mg - 1320ppm
• NO3 - 0ppm
• PO4 - .02ppm
• Salinity - 1.026
• Temp - 77F-78F
• pH - 8-8.5

Tank Specs

• Lighting - ATI 6x39w Dimmable fixture w/ 4 blue plus, coral plus, and purple plus bulbs and a Reefbrite blue LED XHO strip.
• Flow - 2xMP10wesQD and Vectra M1 return pump
• Salt - HW Marine Reefer

Nice! I would take the frag off the plug and mount it to a piece of rock rubble.

Wow! I'd be nervous having that frag. I hope your tank is nice and stable! Thanks for sharing pics. Keep us posted (every week pics might be too often to see any real progress though, unless your corals grow lightning fast compared to mine)

I wanted to keep it on the original frag plug because I'm too afraid to remove it haha I don't want to cause any additional stress when I received it.

I would at least snap the stem off that plug and glue that disk down nice and tight. The way you have it I would be afraid of a crab or snail nocking it loose and it falling behind or into the rocks. Following along!

I was going to do that but a friend of mine has a theory that if you raise it off the rock that instead of encrusting downward forever that it will focus most of its energy to upwards growth after it has encrusted the plug. He has a very successful SPS tank so I'm going to test his theory. If successful then he'll be getting his frag faster
