Sick . Good buy, grow that baby out and sell me one, not diesel! Best of luck to you, Is it in a new tank ?

Its 3 months old so I guess some people may call that new! I'm in the business of trading so maybe we can work out a deal later on down the road;)

I was going to do that but a friend of mine has a theory that if you raise it off the rock that instead of encrusting downward forever that it will focus most of its energy to upwards growth after it has encrusted the plug. He has a very successful SPS tank so I'm going to test his theory. If successful then he'll be getting his frag faster;)
Well at least put a nice wad of putty around that bad boy! Lol your scaring me with it like it is. Besides I have now jinxed you by saying this lol!

I thought about doing that! Trust me it scares me too. The other day I found my bigger than golf ball size turbo snail all over it and next to it I really thought he would bulldoze it over.

May I ask how big is your tank?

Haha, nice thread man!!! Watch what happens when it is raised off the rock work!! Magic!! Bam!! Growth explosion!! That turbo snail might want to live in your sump for a bit...haha

I make sure to check on him everyday. But if he gets close again he might get evicted!

Some encrusting going on and doing well! Thanks everyone for looking!

Nothing we could provide in reefing would make that bad boy put on weight faster than cup feeding with roti feast or live phyto if avail ideally!

Isolated amplified feeding would be my twice daily activity lol

I feed phyto 3-4 times a week and oyster feast every night! I've noticed better color and what seems faster growth in the tank once I started feeding at night.

Yes agreed it's simply worth the extra input/output work for a while to really get it set in. Mass equals disease resistance and that's one heck of an enviable frag sir lol

Trying to learn here... phytoplankton can help acropora grow faster?? I was under the impression that in the wild, colonies would feed on zooplankton. I understand that stuff like zooplankton, copapods, and nonphotosynthetics like gorgonians feed on phytoplankton but i didnot knowit would increase acropora growth. Could someone explain please? Or link an article?

I was just going off the reproductive/ mass building ability PJ reef was able to do with tubastrea in his nano tank using it. Am aware it's different genus.
He had a prior tank of the month from nano reef. com and live phyto was critical it seemed, again this was lps who notably like meaty foods but the feeding response and mass add was crazy.

If you are saying there's zero chance sps can benefit from live phyto then I'd recommend not to use.

It wouldn't be a poison that's for sure. The roti feast really does have some growth stats. Again different genus but at least sps:

In the end it's me living vicariously off your awesome frag purchase heh. Whatever feed your sps is accustomed to, amplified in some way sounded like a nice up response for such $$
