JF Razor Back

Don't worry I won't call it JF Razor Back.

Funny how I always get the same corals as him considering he apparently only collects himself.

This favia I have is exactly the same as his gold rush favia.

Yeah it is "funny."
Nice piece but do you have another photo showing the blue around the mouths? I see green. But it's probably just the lighting.. Let's see it.

Jf razor back has 4 white tenticles on its polyps. Kind of like a mystic sunset
I looked at those but I couldn't find any with blue polyps, although I can't seem to capture the blue polyps my one has with my camera anyway.

Better photo under more blue

This looks exactly like the fx yellow brick road favia. Jf gold rush is completely different when compared in person. But its like almost all corals, can basically look identical in pictures yet their different =/

Well who cares! That favia you have is GORGEOUS!

Lol nah its not the same. I seen them both plenty of times before, the gold rush has green as well as 2 different colored blue on the mouths along with pink speckles. Fx yellow brick favia is basically exactly the same as what he has. But then again, can look different in person instead of photos =)

The centres went blue under more blue light but the other colours washed out and the coral wasn't growing and healthy.

Wait, what? You'll have to elaborate. I'd say I'm a highly certified rescue diver( we don't really rescue anyone it's all body recovery) Im on the dive team with my Fire Dept. I've been "Bent" at depth and had to go the decompression chamber. Jason Fox is also a diver, who travels to Indo among other places and coordinates with local governments to procure pieces for the aquarium trade. Personally I can respect his trade because I know what it entails. If you're also in the trade, and travel overseas collecting pieces and coordinating with local Gov then alright. Killer. Otherwise, it's a pretty bold claim to throw up a colony of a favia and claim it's the exact same piece as a signature piece of a highly respected forum sponsor, and then claim the color "washed out" after the photo you posted didn't match up and you were pressed for some additional photos. So let's see some photos if that massive, righteous, Gold Rush Favia colony brah!! Again just giving you the benefit of the doubt! How's that colony looking now?

It looks lovely in my tank thank you. Much better in person

And for what it's worth I didn't feel pressed to do anything lol.

Well, it's one of the most radical, self proclaimed Jason Fox Gold Rush colonies in existence aside from Jason's own Mother colony, so consider me subbed! I can't wait to check out some detailed updated photos.

This was when I first got it, must have been over 2 years ago now.

Such a beautiful coral, im sure its a real stunner showpiece at the size it is today.
The monti on the otherhand who knows, theres so many of them out there that all look the same, if not a barely noticeable flaw. Ontop of that different lighting and flow...
its like the wwc kung pow, jf beach bum, and asd rainbow montis LOOK EXACTLY THE SAME but whats crazy i they are all wildly different from eachother when grown out.
Pretty neat though, think its the first time ive seen a sunset monti with the 2 colored polyps like that.

If you actually read what I said you will see I didn't say it was a Jason Fox Gold rush Favia, I did said it was the same coral.
