So far only main complaint is the minimal room for a refugium. Decided to try out one of these led lights you just wrap around the external canister. Fingers crossed this works out.

The plan was to skip a couple water changes and feed a little extra to get the water in the old tank dirty. Then once this tank was ready...due to the size difference it would basically just be one large water change.

Ummmmm well I got a little exited and transferred everything over.

Either way the tank is running and everything transferred over. So far so good fish a little freaked out.

Now it’s time to get the old tank into the garage. I’ll Worry about cleaning and selling it later.

LOL, this happens to me too. Make a plan to move slow and then just go fully in. Ha, reefers.

Anybody else try or have any luck with these?

I have basically the same set up on my old tank. I saw it on Marine Depot but I wasn't a fan of the lights, so I just got the smaller seize reactor. On Amazon, I found some a cheap LED light with the red/blue spectrum for plant growth. Here is where I went wrong, I tossed the Chaeto in there from Algae Barn and it died within a week. I was running the lights at 100% for 12 hours and it turned white.

Take two. I got some more Chaeto from my LFS, and this time I took my time. I had the lights on a timer. They would come on for an hour, then off for an hour. Every few days, I would add an extra hour to the cycle until I had all 12 hours on. I wasn't in a rush and did this over a period of 30 days and WOW, this stuff took off growing fast, but I got a lot of hair algae growing in the reactor like crazy, not that I mind, but it overtook the Chaeto eventually. Once I'm done tinkering with my Waterbox and have it fully cycled I will add it back again down the road.

So here is my AquaMaxx Algae Reactor. NOTE: the connection where the wires are connected to the strip are not waterproof. Since the water level in my sump is taller than this reactor, especially during a power outage, I'll fabricate a quick stand to boost it to a safe distance

Not sure if this is a new common thing or not but pretty cool. This is the skimmers lid.

I love my Nyos Quantum 160. I got tired of emptying the collection cup frequently so I added an Avast Marine skimmate locker and the Avast Marine Swabbie to automate cleaning the skimmer neck. Now I only have to empty the skimmer about every 10 days. I sent my Nyos lid to Avast and they drilled it and mounted the Swabbie for me. Works great!

Still working on the time to finish installing the rest of the equipment.
Little by little but I’ll get there. Skimmer is running great now that it’s broken in.

Just got the doser installed and dialed in. So far so good. Will continued to test more often until I’m sure she’s on track again.
