I hail from Phoenix, and I had a 60 gallon reef tank about 8 years ago and took it down due to new flooring being put in the house, with a promise from the wife of an immediate upgrade. I just recently got the itch and ok from the wife, and with the help of my daughter's interest and coming across a sweet deal of a 200g with custom stand and sump set up. My only worry the fish store I used to go is no longer around anyone from Phoenix have any suggestions of a good store I can get live rock and livestock at? Also I just found this site and I'm sure its in here but I would like to get pointed in the right direction for plumbing the sump, and sump set up. This part is new to me and with the basic understanding of what a sump does and water drains down and gets shot back up, my bewilderment is the fact the over flow has 4 pre-drilled holes (2-2in 2-1in) and the sump has three compartments and I want to have a refugium in the sump.

I don’t live in Arizona, so I can’t help you there. I can tell you that the biggest change in reefing in the past 8 years has been Bulk Reef Supply’s YouTube series that pretty much breakdown every aspect of reefing. If you haven’t checked it out, I would highly recommend looking at their BRS 160 YouTube series. I’m also getting back into the hobby and have found their videos crazy helpful. Good luck, and welcome to R2R!

thanks everyone for the warm welcome I posted in the 180+ thread and hopefully I don't disappoint, I did some research on here and found out about the four holes for the return, 2 drain to 2 return and I will do the Herbie over flow method, the sump cannot do a refugium. first goals set up a RO/DI system in the laundry room, second drill and plumb for the drain and return and get a return pump. Also another dumb question the tank was never set up but made by Visio, there are no visible cracks or chips but the local fish store guy said I should still test it for leaks, wouldn't that be done before they ship these things off?
